Used to be good...
Long story short. Played darts age 8-17, was obsessed. Played pub league at 13 and superleague at 16. I even had a 9 darter when I was 16 and remember just not thinking about anything when I threw darts other than the target.
I had my son at 18 and walked away for 10 years from darts. I’ve just started playing again and I just can’t get to where I was. I am overthinking everything. I am nervous playing league matches and I’m now trying to think what I did when I was younger. 29 now and I honestly used to think I had the game to make it all the way.
Now I’m debating what the hell has happened to me. It feels to me it’s all in my head, but I know I’m 50% of the player I was even with practice. Gonna give up if I can’t work it out.

Welcome to the forum mate
You almost played for 10 years so it's no wonder you're not as good as you used to be. It takes a lot more time to get back to that level. The right thing is to stop comparing yourself to your previous level. If there's too much pressure, you will just get nervous. Have fun playing and don't think that much about actually hitting things.

Ask DBG.
I'm sure he could give you some tips.

Re: Used to be good...
I have had a similar history to you, I didn't play between the age of 20 and 40, I am 44 now and just playing for fun now with the occasional flash of how I used to play.
It depends on what you want to achieve, if you want to be the best you can be put the practise in, if you want to have a laugh just play for fun, don't try to be what you once were, just decide what you want to be now.
