Wadey finishes just 3 points short. Don't think anybody would have believed the idea this time last year.

A distant 7th and 8th for the two most recent runners-up on play-off night.

That would make it 7 league phase wins and 5 PL titles for MVG in his first 7 attempts. Exactly the same as Taylor.

Worth noting that the final was best of 31 legs when Taylor won his first four. 16-4 against Lloyd followed by 16-6 against both Scholten and Jenkins... gawd.

Van Gerwen was close to missing out on first place in the league table to Chisnall in 2015, Taylor in 2016 and Cross in 2019, but tops the league every time since 2013. That's 7 in a row now. Taylor finished top of the table 8 times in a row from 2005-2012, so van Gerwen will be trying to equal that next year.

Well done Daryl Gurney, really wasn't looking likely to make the play-offs for much of the season (had he even been in the top 4 before tonight?) but he really finished with a flourish when it mattered. Mensur just didn't play well enough in the end, did well to grind out as many points as he did playing like that, but ultimately not surprised he couldn't quite make it. Price has had a fantastic campaign, a lot even predicted him to be eliminated, but ultimately there were a lot of games where he had match darts and threw them away.

You'd have to make MvG a big favourite now, in the business end of a tournament where he usually comes alive. Obviously Gurney beat him earlier this year, but I can't see the same happening again in a crucial game such as this. Nice dress rehearsal tonight for the other semi-final, ended up not meaning anything concrete, but I'm sure Wade would have loved getting one over on Cross. Would have to make Wadey favourite, he knows how to win these kinds of games, whereas Cross has come unstuck time and time again in the latter stages of events even when he's impressed before then

Also finished only 1 point ahead of Krusty in 2017.

Once a small area has been discreetly blocked off.

I fancy wade might win.
Gurney might well take mvg down.
Only cross I think has little chance

Evening all, hoping for a great finish to this competition, can't see anything other than an MVG win, unless Wade makes the final then he can put up a fight in the final.

I'm expecting a MVG vs Wade final.

MVG to win.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

Just give MVG the trophy now, none of these will come closeto beating him
