Re: Random daily crap.
Just had an offer for my car over £800 more than I paid for it three years back. Am really torn between taking it and getting a Merc or BMW, possibly a Lexus but it's a lovely car to drive

Re: Random daily crap.
OK rant time.
Work in an office, been there nearly 10 years. No customer facing, Dress code is collared shirt and pants for men, blouse or short sleeved shirt for women. T shirts allowed on Friday. Shorts are prohibited, as are runners, singlets and 'revealing clothing'
Until about 5 years ago I would regularly wear shorts (below the knee) in summer on Fridays, but this is frowned upon by the new boss so I don't anymore.
About 4 months ago a new member joined our team. Female, in her 50s, loud, massively overweight, and with tattoos from elbow to wrist on both arms.
At least 90% of the days since, she has worn clothing
with bare shoulders. Far more revealing than any other member of our team. Her usual top would have open shoulders and just a tiny sleeve lower down. Been taking all my effort to just ignore it and not say anything.
Bizarrely, everyone else on the team (about 15 people) seems to like her, although even without the physical appearance I would not like her due to her loud-ness.
Yesterday she turns up in the most revealing outfit yet. Tiny shoulder straps, so much skin on show it was unbelievable. Nearly made me physically ill to look at it.
I said to our line manager that it was not appropriate clothing, and I was staggered that nobody else had said anything, as at least 80% of the time what she wears in not appropriate.
Manager agreed and said she would speak to her about it, so after the chat the 'lady' puts a jacket on. At morning tea, she drives home and comes back in a sleeveless top. Which although not as revealing, also in no way meets the dress code.
However despite agreeing that yesterday's outfit was unacceptable, the manager tried to convince me that what she wears on an average day IS allowed, despite the shoulders not being covered.
I am not sure if my manager said anything to the overall boss, but I will speak to him on Monday.
Rant over.

Oh trust me, if the boss says what she wears is OK, I am wearing a tank top and shorts every day.
