Some stats now it's all over

90+ and 100+ averages
Image

Overall averages of the two tournaments, last-32 to final included
Image

Overall averages of each round of the two tournaments over time. You'll see even the lowest PDC round is higher than the best BDO. The rounds, as you would expect, go in order from 1st round to SF/F. I combine semi finals and finals into one line.

I guess the post tournament celebratory dinner is well under way now.
Jobbo will still be on it big style.
Adams wil stlll be chuckling away like some simple minded horse.
Nicho Rawling and Mace , now being part fuelled up will be spouting even more inane drivel.
Selectas no doubt pleading with the top seeds not to go to q school.
Etc etc etc

In the BDO, not in the time I've been recording, which is from 2006 onwards. Hankey did 99.30 in 2001.
There has been one. A certain two time Lakeside champion averaged 100.80 in his very first Lakeside semi-final against Cliff Lazarenko in 1990. Also, Hankey's 99.30 isn't the best this century. Glenn Durrant did 99.87 in his 2015 semi against Martin Adams.

It was, yes. Whitcombe also played well in that semi, a match that was much better than both their World Championship finals.

Speaking of Taylor's final record, does the above bear a passing resemblance to 1992? When the trebles were fucking three times smaller.

Phil Taylor 95.11
Rod Harrington 91.83
John Lowe 91.14
Keith Sullivan 89.82
Mike Gregory 89.55
Alan Warriner 88.87
Kevin Kenny 87.74
Martin Phillips 87.38

That's a spirited defence of the World Professionals. I'll consider it.
