Even Ryan Joyce played better in the last 8 and he was far and away the worst player in the quarter-finals.

The only player who got close to pushing Waites so far was Whitehead, of all people. Must have been the PDC experience, I guess.

I still reckon Waites would beat Aspinall if they played though far more times than not.
