With the format now so long, quite likely it's a whole world pro without a ton average. in fact has there ever been a 100+ in the semis?

PDC v BDO 90+ and ton-plus averages

Duzza's 98.02 was the highest so far in the BDO, but 29 PDC individual matches this year were higher.
Knocked this off the page so it's a bump.

In the BDO, not in the time I've been recording, which is from 2006 onwards. Hankey did 99.30 in 2001.

90+ average count now at 22. Very little difference in the quarters' averages despite the lack of a repeat of Duzza's 100+ average. The ladies' semi averages this year... wow. Anastasia was the only one whose average this year was higher than the worst one from last year (Trina's 76.74).

In 1990, Phil Taylor won 15 out of 16 legs to beat Cliff Lazarenko in the semi finals, winning 5-0 in sets with a 100.80 average.

So the overall average was down for rounds 1, 2 and the QF.

Next year could be demonstrably worse. Duzza and Williams are the only two BDO players consistently averaging above 90. And their next best player, Waites, is also seemingly considering Q School. I doubt all three will enter and win tour cards. But it's very possible that they will lose two of the three. Surely at least one of them won't be back next year.

Rogg's list earlier in the week may very well become a reality.

How much bigger do they have to make the trebles for the standard to improve? Can they be made any bigger when the bull occupies so much space?

And the BDO boards have bigger trebles than the current PDC boards. Nicholson of all people mentioned that last year.

Taylor's 92 final average record must go eventually and look at the board he did it on. Taylor was better nearly 30 years ago than anyone in the bdo now, before he even became the monster he was destined to be.
