Predictions for 2019!

Post by thegentle » Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:33 am

2018 was a right hoot, let's see what you have for 2019!
MvG to be pretty dominant, not quite 2016/17 levels, but better than 2018 for sure
Ando to seethe off the stage at the Premier League in Glasgow and Cardiff against Price
Cross to have a much better year and win a TV event
de Zwaan to make a serious move up the rankings, winning a few tour events and possibly challenging for some of the majors
Fucktons of youngsters will enter the top 32 for that matter
Dimitri to fail to make it to Blackpool, but scrape into Dublin
RvB to embarrass himself in the PL, yet somehow scrape his way to the Worlds with the help of MvG

I predict Barney to exceed expectations and not get relegated in the PL. Krusty to be relegated is my early pick, unless he manages to find a good set of darts and stick to them. Wade and Gezzy to be the other major failures.
Cadby will not set foot in the UK in 2019.
Whitlock will seethe over his PL omission and win a few PCs and maybe a ET, but will continue to be shit on TV.

Barney will do the tour early on, lose a few early games to people he should have no business losing to and fuck it off for the rest of the year, just about scraping into the Worlds for his swansong.

Cross will start his slide with money to defend, settling into the lower top 10 position that's about right for him by this time next year.

Smith will not win a major.

Anderson will fully morph into Tesco Value Phil Taylor, threatening to retire every 5 minutes when not having the carpet rolled out for him by his opponent every game. Winning fuck all in comparison to Taylor while doing it.

I think Gando and Wade will both throw a hissy fit in at least one TV event..
Barney will survive PL but not make the top four
Cross and Crusty to improve and win a few floor events or ET events between them.
Mensur will struggle this year and drop out of top 10
Beaton to finally drop out of top 32
Noppie, Ratty, JdZ Hopp, Aspinall and dimitri will all be in top 25
Barney to be in world cup despite being behind Klaasen and Wattimena and possibly JdZ, thus giving him a free passage to the slam
Price will still be a cunt
I agree that Cadby won't enter the country in 2019 thus losing his tour card at the end of the year
Shite will survive with his card but drop out of top 50
Hopes....
Commie, Jamie Hughes and Cody get their tour cards...
J Lewis, Dobey and Luke continue where they left off at ally pally..
Less cloggers in the ET qualifiers

You realise this is for 2019 not 2049?

Ha. I have to agree.

Blimey. I'd forgotten all about Jamie Hughes. Taking him longer to reach the Top 3 than I was led to believe.

Aspinall will have a better year than the one Jamie Lewis had after the Worlds semifinal
Cadby dominates the Australian Tour but doesn't get entry into UK
Barney gets relegated from the Premier League and doesn't qualify for the Worlds
Jackpot makes a major final
Durrant wins a tour card if he plays Q School like he said he would, but doesn't have a really great year on tour, still qualifies for Ally Pally tho

I'll agree on Aspinall, not just blindly hoping it'll be true, but his form isn't coming completely out of the blue like Lewis last year

I like Aspinall. The one thing that worries me is his action he does seem rather jerky on release. Not a problem now, but when the pressure of defending money it might then become a problem. I hope I'm wrong!

Van Tergouw to get closer than Dimitri to making the Matchplay. Neither qualifies.
The final pro tour spot goes to currently the best player in the BDO, Andrew Gilding.

Philth to announce just before Ally Pally 2020 that he is to come out of retirement.
MvG to win all the majors.
Gando to announce his retirement after Ally Pally 2021.
Price to have a fight with another player live on TV at some point.
Gurney to stop crying.
Loooous to put on a few pounds.
Hendo to explode live on stage at Blackpool ( if he hasn't already done so at the UK open).
Krusty to keep crying.

This biggest positive will be more younger players making their mark and pushing into top 32. The potential is huge

Cross and Wright to begin the descent down the rankings.

Gurney I fancy to take a major as I think Gando and Belly Boy will as well. MvG will still be the man to beat but will be beat a few times.

Barney to sink without a trace and Wade to slide back. Price will win nothing

The BDO will continue to provide loads of entertainment as always but for all the wrong reasons
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

 yeah, he is defending 100k from 2017..
I realise it was a bold prediction but time has got to catch up with him sooner or later.. Surely ???

PL is shit with MVG not losing a game
RVB gets beat off Rileys qualifier at UK open
Ian White wins on the floor
Steve Beaton breaks into top 16
Adrian Lewis Headbutts Price at Blackpool live on tv
Wade becomes a neo nazi
Sky continue to wank over Van den Bergh despite him been no better than Garry Thompson on the floor and euro tour

If you look at 2018 for him on Darts Database, even though he didn't make his usual final, he was actually very consistent on the floor. I think he will hang around the lower half of the Top 32 for a few years more.

MVG dominates but Cross, Smith and Gando each win a TV major

Wade and Wright relegated from Premier League

Barney gives up on pro tour after 3 weekends, doesn't qualify for worlds but gets a last minute wild card (due to World Series performances to replace someone else with Visa issues)

Henderson wins a Euro Tour. As does Van Den Bergh (beating Chisnall in his final)

Merv King grimaces a lot, no sign of A game

First openly gay darts player comes out

Average age of top 32 comes down but Beaton stays in

Norris and Van De Pas lose tour cards.

Price tries to lose his bad boy image
