The irony would be Dimi gets a Sky pick this year!

I know that it won't happen as I think that Michael van Gerwen will beat Michael Smith in the final BUT if, for the sake of argument Luke Humphries and Ryan Joyce makes the final, will they still have the courage to overlook these two in order to waste a Premier League wild card on Raymond van Barneveld?

Really like both of them but I don't think they should get a wildcard based on a world final alone. Stick them in a few World Series events yes but would be severely out of their depth in the PL

Ooh, dunno, that would be a tough one. Was the right call to not include Lewis and Dimitri last year, but a world final is something else. Humph in particular has been playing some very good stuff, Joyce not as much, but surely would have if he gets past MvG and Anderson to get to the final! Would be inclined not to include them tbf, they can always come again and build on this. Humph in particular looks the real deal

If Humphries gets in as world champ that'll solve a few issues.

Does anyone know how often they've picked someone outside the top 20?
Barney the first year and I think Bunting might have been 20 something. Not sure who deserves it but think the top 8 as it stands will get picked (MVG, Cross, Wright, Gurney, Gando, Price, Suljovic, Smith). Think Barney gets in for commercial reasons. Think Whitlock misses out (even if he thinks he is in). Wade may be hard done by after 2 TV titles but if Chisnall or Aspinall get to final I reckon they take this place, if both get to final maybe they struggle to keep Barney in. If neither Aspinall or Chisnall get in I reckon Van Den Bergh could get Wade's place. A lot of the outsiders have bottled this tournament

Think Klaasen was around about the 32 mark when he first got picked off the back of a quarter final, two years after winning Lakeside back when that meant something

Van Gerwen, Gary, Rob, Wright and Gurney are sure ins.

As do Mensur and Smith.

Wade is through thanks to his European Win while the Fridge Freezer will definitely get in after the Wolverhampton steal.

For the Tenth Spot I'm afraid the anti-Barney activists will lose the battle.

I believe that Mensur has already said that he will accept.

The Fridge Freezer can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

Unlike him I'm still here.

Price said he would accept an invite. He'd be a fool not to.

I cannot see any player turning it down... it is too lucrative
Even though Wade has hinted that he may not accept, I think that is just his mind games in case he does not get offered a place.
Mensur would probably be the exception, due to family and grovelling etc...
