Very good.

“He was my hero,” Cross says, “but he was retiring. It was his last-ever game and he aimed to go out as world champion. I’d watched Phil dominate for 25 years. He was ruthless. But I said to my Mrs: ‘He ain’t bullying me.’
...
“I want the No 1 spot. If you can’t be the best player in the world then what’s the point? If I had to settle on No 2 it wouldn’t be good enough. I want to be the best. I still believe, in the coming years, you’re going to watch me dominate this sport.”

Bit of a blunder on one of the captions:
The Netherlands' Raymond van Barneveld, the first non-Brit to win a world title, has been credited by many as a major influence in the sport's global growth.
Yes, this is Raymond van Barneveld:

2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Both as valuable as the Lakeside piss pot!

If Rob Cross can get back to the form and consistency that he was showing a year ago, then he'll be an even better player than he was back then, precisely because he'll have had some tougher times and gotten back to top form after it. The Cross of a year ago was in amazing form, but the banana skin ahead was that he had not experienced tougher times and a loss of form since his rise up the rankings, and he would have to learn how to deal with that situation. I find it a bit odd when people criticize Cross for not winning like a world champion should. Cross is still learning and is inexperienced with some things, even though he is world champion.

Agree, that he will learn from his experience and that the criticism on this past year was unfounded. But I think that he sits the bed in the worlds and has a good year in 2019. My thinking is needs a bit more time to truly wrap his head around the fact he is a top 5 player

Anastasia, I'm hoping she gets less wolf whistling this time now she doesn't look to have lost all the baby weight. Don't think it helped her last time. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/ ... ampionship

It’s pathetic. First in both codes. Last in respect.

Oh dear. The author apologised and has now corrected it all. As for the pack of warriors who sprinted to his rescue, ridiculous as usual.

Yet another fire needs put out.
