I may have missed the odd one but I make it 27 cards up for grabs..

64 OOM
33 outside the 64 with two year cards on darts database who have won £250 or more
2 from Dev Tour
2 from CT

Is there anyone I have missed?

Interesting bit in this year regarding Wigan:
NB: For the UK Qualifying School, the capacity of the venue may be limited, dependent upon entry levels. Therefore, entry may be limited to players and DRA licensed managers only. Any allocation of guest tickets would be confirmed in due course.
Pretty much confirms they messed up last year with the entry numbers.
2020 World Grand Prix Lucky Dip winner!
2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Both as valuable as the Lakeside piss pot!

Dan Hutchinson @dh0967 2h
Which q school will you go to? @brazilliant180 @TheSilencer170

Jeff Smith @TheSilencer170
Leaning toward Germany

Noppert, Ratajski and de Zwaan were the big 3 (as I remember it) at Euro School last year. All now have cards (and Ally Pally to come) = guess the massive lottery broke down somewhere along the way.

Who will be the interesting players at Euro School this time? Not many cards available, sure, but is 2019 a good year to play it?

Does seem a really weak lineup compared to the UK one. I can see Hendriks, Razma and Groen among those who just lost their cards.

Koltsov, Nilsson, Meuwisse and Rasztovits from the higher end of the Challenge Tour but this is really pushing it.

Add the BDO players who take part though that doesn't seem like a huge group of relevant players at the moment.

And you do have many of the Germans though I don't think any of them stand out really.

Not sure how many, if any of these can be classified as big players. Maybe I'm missing a few obvious ones but looks significantly worse than last year.

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of unexpected names taking the Euro cards. Turetta from Italy already got very close last year.

That being said, with last year's split there might be as few as 8 cards on offer there. That's indeed a massive lottery. I don't know if the lower level of competition makes up for having only ~4 spots available through the ranking as opposed to ~11 in the UK.

I figure the two/three Rodriguezes will feature among the main contenders.

Oh, one player not mentioned so far: Labanauskas. Will need to go very deep at Ally Pally to avoid QS.

The Scandinavian players might be worth keeping an eye on, in general. PDC Nordic is making next season's Euro Tour qualifiers free for those who do QS, that's a €780 / £700 value, so that basically pays for doing Q School for a committed player. Could tempt a few more of them than just the usual suspects to give it a shot.

Think he'll need to go to Q-School anyway regardless of how well he does at Ally Pally as he's only played a handful of PDC ranked events over the past two years

He is listed as played seven on darts database so would have to do QS regardless of how well he does at ally pally.

There's no minimum events requirement for winning a tour card.

Is the minimum just for retaining a tour card then?

It used to be, but that rule was scrapped at the start of this year, too.

Interesting. Labanauskas did occur to me afterwards.

Some other European players without a tour card, not at Lakeside and with no previous Q-School attempt:

Andy Baetens
Geert De Vos
Justin van Tergouw

Nitin Kumar says he'll give Q-School a go. Will probably be a bit early for him to win a card, but he says he's willing to play at least some of the Challenge Tour, and that can only be a good thing for him

Seen that, a very nice interview. Best of luck to the lad, will be rooting for him at Ally Pally to win at least a set or two
