Sky have their two wildcards and will look purely from a commercial point of view..topofthetops wrote:Correct Sky will insist on having him and then go overboard on hyping up the inevitable meeting against MVG in Rotterdam.Randall wrote:His victory over mvg will give them an excuse to include him
After last year in Rotterdam I would be amazed if they didn't pick him, regardless of his form
Welcome to the forum.. great to have you on board...

In fairness Barney was ok in the pl last year.
Its his half arsed attitude the rest of the year that's irritating.

Barney's ability has never been in question he's also got a lot of bottle if you give him a chance to put you away he'll usually take it. Saying that does he deserve yet another PL wildcard? Not really but the problem is there's hardly a queue banging down the door deserving of a spot just like this year's PL so he's a shoo in.

Re: Premier League 2019
Not sure about that, I would say the competition isn't bad right now, and that will probably improve with the last few events. I'd say you could pick 8 or 9 players on merit now, depends on if you consider Whitlock to be indartvader wrote:Barney's ability has never been in question he's also got a lot of bottle if you give him a chance to put you away he'll usually take it. To be honest the Premier league experience for Price hasn't scarred him, unlike Bunting and Webster who shit their pants after their disaster. So I'd give him another go!

I know he has backtracked somewhat since then but a year away and let him earn his place back in 2020 would be better.

If I had to choose now my 10 would be
GARY ANDERSON
ROB CROSS
Michael van Gerwen
Peter Wright
James Wade
Mensur Suljovic
Daryl Gurney
Simon Whitlock
Michael Smith
Darren Webster
Barney? I like him but he is showing lack of commitment. Get in more tournaments, try to win some and you'll get back in.
Jackpot and Chizzy? Have to make a good worlds to be considered.

Regardless of rankings, I would rather Lewis and Chizzy get in. I agree it's time for RVB to have a year off.

Re: Premier League 2019
Gurney and Whitlock would be there on merit IMO. For the last place at the moment I'd have either Cullen or Chizzy but many others like Webster or Lewis could have a claim with a good TV run. I would prefer if someone knocked out Whitlock but right now he'd have to be in.

But would you really want to see them play on a weekly basis? Remember, it's an exbo. So the PDC are allowed to bend the rules a bit when it comes to player selection.

Re: Premier League 2019
I don't mind Gurney at all and had a very solid PL campaign last year. Wouldn't like to see Whitlock so I'm hoping that someone can rise in the next events and take his place. Overall I'm a fan of players getting in the PL on merit and if I had to pick right now, Whitlock would have to be one.sennafan24 wrote:Maybe soThe Thorn wrote:Gurney and Whitlock would be there on merit IMO.

He's a solid player, but nothing overly special. Plus, he comes across as a right prick.

He seems like a prick aye but I don't have a big problem with that. He's not bad for a villain I guess. Hasn't done anything great this year but still merits a spot I reckon.sennafan24 wrote:He does nothing for me.The Thorn wrote:I don't mind Gurney at all

Fingers crossed.
But remember, we did have to put up with 2 years of Wes Newton in the PL.
