Darren Dixon @BeaumontDMD
Women's PL is an interesting idea. That would certainly showcase the leading players week in, week out. Women's darts needs 4 or 5 players to become household names, so the game can grow around them. Personally, I think @Fsherrock is the one - she's young and very marketable

Scotty Daglish @ScottyDaglish
I have personally messaged @BarryHearn previously about this and his response was that there is no market for a women’s premier league

Darren Dixon @BeaumontDMD
That's interesting. He might feel differently come January, if the 2 women players at Ally Pally are well received and play good darts. There's going to be huge pressure on those 2 players - if they are overcome by nerves and throw a crap average, that will feel like a set back

Scotty Daglish @ScottyDaglish
It sure will mate I can’t see why they can’t do a women to run on the same night as the men’s Just start a little earlier.
These two morons are allowed to breath ffs.
Much more appropriate

Amanda Abbott @mandych1c 6h
@BarryHearn will we be seeing a list of entries for the ladies qualifier soon??

Barry Hearn @BarryHearn
Yes very soon.

Who are the notable munter players - there's more - NOT to have confirmed (or strongly suggested) that they will enter? Have Trina and Bo said anything yet?

Just seen on twitter that those two will be in Italy that weekend, so I take they are not playing the qualifiers

What a sad loss. I'd have thought Bo of all people would have appreciated the opportunity to make the same money as the men.

Matt Porter on the bird qualifiers for Ally Pally:
"Over 120 entries for the British event... similar sort of number for the European event."

By the way, does Australia not have any half-decent female players outside of Corrine Hammond? They had a ladies Oceanic Masters alongside the men's event today, and the 16 players managed to not produce a single 70+ game average in the tournament. And those were the best 16 players out of 66 who tried to qualify the day before!

It is listed, which is a start. The women are as good as the men, you'll see.

Linda Duffy agrees that women on the whole will never be as good at darts as men, and thinks that the worlds invitations are mainly a publicity stunt: https://sportsgazette.co.uk/its-a-publi ... mpionship/

Pretty interesting article, actually, although it inevitably leads to this comment:
“If someone could provide £500,000 and structure a ladies pro tour the way the PDC have a men’s pro tour, I think you would see a lot of improvement in the women’s game.”
Heck, the PDC is probably not even putting £500,000 a year into their entire developmental structure between the two lower tours and all the international support they provide (at least not after factoring in returns through entry fees), and that benefits probably over a thousand players. How many women would be targetted by that proposed spending offensive...200 maybe? And that's arguably being generous.
