If you ever wondered what kind of halfwit watches a dvd with the commentary on...
Fawlty Towers
with Cleese on. Really interesting. He is very critical about parts of it.

Polly has her hand underneath the tin of crackers, turning the base of the prop rat to face the health inspector. That's the end of Fawlty Towers.

Starting a new (90s) sitcom over the next few days. If I say Jasper Carrott.

There is so much stuff I enjoy and it's tough to rank it all. I would say that quantity is not in Fawlty Towers' favour.

Yes!! With Robert Powell, a real actor. I've never watched the whole run from start to finish.

When they go on for endless seasons it's not good either.

It started as a segment in the Jasper Carrott show, was brilliant then the spin off took it to another level

Definitely. But something that sustains top quality across several series has an advantage I'd say. One Foot in the Grave (imo), say.
I've nothing to say against Fawlty Towers. It's amazing and lack of quantity isn't really a criticism.

I like one foot in the grave but I think it got worse as it went on.

As did Only Fools. Unlike those involved in FT they didn't quit at the top.
Waiting For God was brilliant as well
