Re: "We're hoping for a women's tour" - LW; and now a PL!
The amount of money in tennis there is zero chance.
Hard to see why anybody would make that transition.
Other than price I can't think of any male sportsman who have switched to darts.

Re: "We're hoping for a women's tour" - LW; and now a PL!
Doesn't have to be a current player, could be a woman in her 40s who has kept fit and is looking for a new challenge. That said, the PDC would need to get involved first to give women's darts enough of a platform that anyone like that would even bother. It's not even so much a matter of the prize money, more the fact that women's darts is stuck in the general BDO morass and most people are either ridiculing it or not even aware that it exists.

They are involved mate, the women are welcome to have a go. And has been said as Deta reckons the women are not far off the men they should make noise in the PDC

Other than making James wade cry and winning the league darts I have blanked him from my mind.

Re: "We're hoping for a women's tour" - LW; and now a PL!
You can't have a seperate women's tour in darts. In tennis you can because the stats aren't in your face. There aren't constant groundstroke mph comparisons up on screen. And in tennis there are hugely marketable athletes like Sharapova. Nobody is buying a Lisa Ashton calender.
In darts it's very visually obvious when players aren't hittong the big numbers. The scores are shouted out. The legs take forever if both players are averaging in the low 70s.

Woman darts is "always a different winner," he says, "not like a runaway Michael van Gerwen."Live Darts @livedarts
"I'd love to see them do something like the Premier League - I think that would be great for the ladies game."
@Deta132 hopes the World Championship qualifiers can pave the way for more women's events

Re: Munter Terrorism Thread
Naw, it's all worked out. They'll start PL nights earlier to get the women in.
Darren Dixon @BeaumontDMD
Women's PL is an interesting idea. That would certainly showcase the leading players week in, week out. Women's darts needs 4 or 5 players to become household names, so the game can grow around them. Personally, I think @Fsherrock is the one - she's young and very marketable
Scotty Daglish @ScottyDaglish
I have personally messaged @BarryHearn previously about this and his response was that there is no market for a women’s premier league
Darren Dixon @BeaumontDMD
That's interesting. He might feel differently come January, if the 2 women players at Ally Pally are well received and play good darts. There's going to be huge pressure on those 2 players - if they are overcome by nerves and throw a crap average, that will feel like a set back
Scotty Daglish @ScottyDaglish
It sure will mate I can’t see why they can’t do a women to run on the same night as the men’s Just start a little earlier.

Most of them have an i.q. about the same level as plankton so I doubt it.
