To be fair, Nadal won the US last year. The young players really need to step up. Force Federer, Nadal and Djokovic to think about retirement.

Lovely loss for Djokovic. Tsitsipas looked good.

Didn't see it but at only 20 it can only be good for the game.
Federer surely still starts as favourite in new York.

Beat Zverev too from 2-5 down in the second set. Impressive.

Came up short against Nadal.
Was a big ask.

Nadal was too strong. Looks more promising than Zverev.

Yeah. Um, say that when he actually wins something.

Someone will step up when the big three are gone.
Thiem looks the obvious choice to triumph at the French at least.

Why? I said it about Federer over Baghdatis when they were young and had won nothing.

Big game for Djokovic tonight. Could become the first since Laver to win every Masters title. Surely he should beat the old man.

6-4 6-4
Must be a warm favourite for flushing meadows now.
Amazing how quick the wheel has turned in men's tennis.

Not sure if you watched the game, it wasn't great. Federer was really slow. I think that we could get a surprise winner. Federer won't make it too far and I'm still unconvinced that Djokovic is near his best. Mind you, that still might be good enough.

No, just read the reports.
It's still hard to see beyond the obvious winners.
Anderson will be a threat, del Potro possible outsiders.

Wawrinka and Dimitrov draw each other in round one for the second consecutive slam.

Federer and Djokovic potentially in the quarters as well

The two young canadians draw each other as well.

Wawrinka beats Dimitrov in straight sets.

Murray just one.

Taking advantage of the Amazon Prime free trial so I can watch bits of this for the next fortnight.

The game could use Stan back competing.
Back hand to die for.
That can't be the only platform to view it? Certainly not on sky.

Yep. Amazon Prime got exclusive rights for it.

I think they have the whole atp tour with the exception of Wimbledon and Roland Garros next year.
