Over the past few days I've seen quite a few tweets stating that all the BDO lack is marketing. Also saw Durrant stating they need to do something to avoid being "swallowed up" by the PDC. He likes the phrase "swallowed up"!

When will these cretins realise they haven't got the product to take to market

They all think that having enough players for a non-embarrassing Last 8 onwards is all it takes to put on a darts event that deserves public attention.

To be fair, the standard at the business end of tournaments does look improved compared to what it was two or three years ago. But on the flipside it has also killed off one of the pro-BDO talking points from back then: "Anyone can win." Now it's Durrant/McGeeney all day every day. I bet some players are quietly begging that at least Durrant make the switch and preferably both.

There is an outside chance that Duzza will be overcome by his experience at the Grand Slam this year and have second thoughts about being "BDO for life". He was like an over-excited kid at last year's Grand Slam.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

Never until they commit to being an organisation for amateur darts.

And even then it'll be way too late.

Silvia and I would like to thank everybody for all their messages and sympathy after the horrible attack that Silvia has been going through at our house. We are happy with the support from the local police and are confident that they will catch these guys.

It would be best if the BDO settled for being an amateur subsidiary of the PDC while keeping Lakeside and the Masters, but sadly with the PDC investing in the Challenge and and Development tours, I don't see that as very likely
