MVG has played in 6, won 4.

Taylor played in 12, won 6.
Taylor played in 13, won 6, winning 6 of the first 8, including the first 3 years undefeated and another undefeated run in 2010. In terms of the league table, only Taylor and van Gerwen have ever topped the table at the end of the league phase (Taylor 8 times from 2005-2012, van Gerwen 6 times from 2013-2018).
13. That's the one. He's lucky the PL wasn't around in the early 2000s when Dennis Smith was in his prime.

Winning the league phase is the true measure, and arguably the finest measure the PDC has. The play-offs are only who's best on the night.

Price should have been no where near this pl. Smith shouldn't have been either. At least Smith performed well and cared.

He got to two TV finals (UK Open/World Cup) last year and was top 10 after Ally Pally (I think). The argument was strong. Shame he ended up making a complete arse of himself.

One yeti short of a show.

And also there is the point that Snackpot, Wade and Chizzy were playing awful at the time, the likes of Dimitri, Jamie Lewis and a few others were not ready for this type of tournament, which didn't really leave many options. As much as I don't like Price, he was a better option than the likes of Ian White or Alan Norris

Chizzy deserved to be the PL this year. He got robbed. He's Cross's teammate in the World Cup of Darts. Clearly, Chizzy has world class bottle. A no miss on the doubles type of dude.

The BBC was doing live text updates last night: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/darts/44139550

Live on Sky Sports tv, Talksport radio and BBC text. Ridiculous. Probz only a matter of time before they all tell me about the wdt.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

Just to go back to who deserved a PL spot, these are the ranking points earned for 2017.(inc. 2018 World Champ)

The top 9 got spots which are well deserved based on ranking points, and the other spot went to RvB, and lets face facts as he has a place in the PL until he says otherwise. Which doesn't bother me because he is great good for the atmosphere and no1 can hate him, and the PDC love him because he will always generate revenue.

My apologies for the below posts, had a drink and edit and quote are close

Price was ranked 11th, not yet hit top 10, but still deserved a spot.

It really was the Premier League nobody wanted to qualify for. If anything Whitlock was a bit lucky to be there given his serious Webster problems, but he proved us all wrong to an extent

I doubt he'll get back in next year. Same with Price.
