Root reckons the sides are evenly matched.
He does know they lost the first test by ten fucking wickets right?

England really need a spinner who can take wickets. Lyon has 8 top-7 wickets so far, Moeen has 1

England are more worried about batting deep, which they only do on paper.

It's fine batting deep if the top order works. The England lower order find themselves under pressure too often

A balanced 11 seems a thing of the past.

Keeper's now an all rounder role with keeping the second string but there's still a question over Ali. Is he a batter who bowls a bit or a bowler who bats a bit?

Judging on his performance so far this series, neither.

Aussies will be delighted if he plays in Perth

Perth is not what it was 20 years ago.

It might take us into the 3rd day to roll you.

England second string batters collapsing just like there "illustrious" colleagues..
Surely those playing the tests needed time in the middle.

England have decided the wise way of saving the series is to move Bairstow up one place in the batting order.

We still have an impatient useless flid at number three, but I am sure Bairstow being moved up a single place will fix things.

Moving root up seems more obvious

I'd experiment with Hales at number three.

Playing three openers might be the way, try and shield the shot makers.
Seem to recall Atherton batted at three in his first test.
