Agree with this to a certain extent, obviously still need to be a good driver but on paper Vettel is the best of this error but Alonso & Hamilton (much as he is a cock) as far superior drivers but were just in a poorer car, that's now changed of course for HamiltonJustin Credible wrote:use to love F1

F1 is about as interesting as women's darts

F1 should be the fastest cars in the world with the best drivers ragging them as quickly round the track as possible.Justin Credible wrote:use to love F1

Now its drivers pootling round at 60 percent effort. Lewis Hamilton, spoilt cunt or not used to be box office. Now the sport has (last race aside) turned him into a glorified prius driver conserving fuel and tyres.

And to be fair on health and safety, driver Jules Bianchi died recently after injuries he got in a race last year. In the 60s and 70s F1 was the ballsiest sport in the world because there were regular fatalities.Justin Credible wrote:use to love F1

I dont blame health and saftety for the spectacle today. It is cost cutting.

I disagree. There was a lot more to it than that.Justin Credible wrote:those fatalities and incidents is what made it must see for me in the 80s and 90s
The regulations were less artificial. There were far fewer electronic gizmos before 1992. It felt like pure racing. You watch an on-board from a car these days and it looks like an astronaut handling a spaceship. As much as I still enjoy it, I do find it over-produced.
The glory years happened when I was a mere infant (1987-1991). Other than in testing, there were no fatalities during that period. After that F1 lost its edge. We have had some cracking seasons since then, but the sport has never felt quite as authentic.
Mind you, F1 is better today than it was in years like 2002 and 2004. They were dark times.

His tyre blew up in the closing laps. To be fair, he did have a right to be pissed off. The tyres should not be exploding like that.

Yeah, it's commonly accepted that Pirelli have not done the sport much good. While the regulations have not helped, the main reason why viewers have been leaving is because it's now hidden behind a paywall in a lot of countries.
The ratings on BBC are still quite strong.

Bitches should be OK at F1 driving as there is no reversing involved.
