World Cup enquiry.

Post by Dartfrog » Tue May 10, 2011 3:41 pm

Did anyone watch Triesman being questioned on bribes etc?
Mentions three or four suspects. Blatter was quick to hurry out a statement saying he knows nothing about it.

There's something on BBC News now, they're saying that cash and a knighthood were mentioned

''Triesman - who was initially chairman of England's bid - made the allegations about Jack Warner, Nicolas Leoz, Ricardo Teixeira and Worawi Makudi'

No suprise really.

Quatar was a real shock of a decision so I wouldn't be surprised if a few palms were greased

You've got to love FIFA, corruption is a way of life.

allegedly.
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

I did not watch one single match in that world cup bar a few minutes of the final and a highlights of a semi.
It was the worst WC in my memory.

As much as it pains me to say it England would have been a great choice.
Fantastic stadiums, true football fans and they would have ran it well.

You are right, it would have been brilliant had they won it.

But it was funny when they didn't.

Sports minister hinting England could break away from Fifa.
It would be a shame if England weren't involved in future world cups. :(
