I'm referring to "The Hundred's" supposedly low viewing figures.

As someone who champions those formats and the style of play they influence, surely those figures must come as a surprise to you?
If I ever watch the 100 I watch it on sky because the commentators and coverage is better. So I'm not surprised terrestrial tv figures are poor

The analogy was clear enough?
I know people who attend the 100.
They don't like cricket

So for what purpose do they go then? I mean I don’t like show jumping so I wouldn’t attend an event. It seems strange that they are paying money to watch something they apparently don’t like.

The 100 is not cricket.
What sport is it then? As by all definition the 100 is cricket.

It ain't the same sport as First Class cricket, in the same way the Snooker Shootout is not the same as normal snooker.

They are still ultimately watching a game of cricket though.
I know you don’t like the T20 version of the game, but do you not accept this is cricket and based on attendance figures, is the most popular format of the game.

Might be watching but not invested in the game
The pl is the "most popular format" in darts but nobody is there for the darts
