Trivia question.

Where did the "Phil's Darts Club" moniker seemingly originate?

I suspect either Rogg or PT13 will know.
Bobby George?
Correct.

Do you know where he spouted it?
I did hear him saying it on TV once, which must have been the bbc's lakey coverage, but that's all I recall.

He used it on his personal website. Taylor makes reference to it in his first book.

George's website is the one of the first darts site I remember visiting. Probably due to the reference to it in Taylor's book.

Oh right. Bobby seems to think of himself as a king of the zinger and he's probably right. Do you remember how Taylor referenced it? Probably took it as a compliment knowing him.

After checking back, George actually used it in his Darts World column.

From Taylor's book (page 147)
Bobby George, who has never won a World Championship but who still sets himself up as a guru of the game, never misses a chance to scoff at "Phil's Darts Club", as he calls the PDC in his Darts World column
George did have a personal website where he took shots at the PDC though. I'm not misremembering that.

Fuck knows how I ended up visiting it though.

George used to post lengthy responses to someone called "pro-life" on there IIRC.

I'll have to search Wayback at some point to try and find it.

You were right.

The "That's The Way To Do It" section of his website was actually just a link to a Darts World articles - https://web.archive.org/web/20060301041 ... he_Way.htm

Those are the articles I must have read.

I probably searched for George's Darts World articles online after reading Taylor's book and was directed to his website.
