I used to think he was vastly overrated when I was a teenager and in my early 20’s
Although, I must admit, I’m basing that opinion on when he played against United in a knockout game in the Champions League for Inter Milan (I think it was) where he was very subdued and did fuck all, despite all the hype surrounding him at the time

He then, of course, went to United and did pretty well and he continued to do well after that

So yeah, he’s up there with the elite
