Sure, plenty did, not necessarily right this moment but it was going to happen.

I think he'll win another 3 or 4 more, be the best player in the world for the next 2 or 3 years and then enter a decline.

Still not coninced, tbh.
He is best now and won few titles but rest of the field is too inconsistent. Correct me if I'm wrong, bit he is yet to face prime Wright or Price or MvG that gives a shit in a major. Then we'll see...
What is good with him is almost constant progress, last year ET titles, now majors.

It was a bit embarrassing for MvG that he called Humphries out, saying "he still has to beat me first", only for MvG to see a 9-5 lead in a race to 11 turn into a 9-11 loss against Humphries.

For 2 of the last 3 years, MvG has failed to win a ranked TV event in a calendar year, he's not the man to beat anymore (not that there is one really with the majors being spread around so much)

The count has rapidly reached 4! As we've seen from recent world champions, it'll be a feat and a half to repeat his 2023 season (not least as the grind of the Premier League will be new to him), but he's still in his 20s and seemingly has the world at his feet

Not sure it will be the grind, more the desire. Taylor wanted wins, that made him great. MVG had skills but lacks the same drive as Taylor, much like Smith etc. Humphries has a good throw, even temperament, can battle back and seems grounded. He 'should' be one of the main players for the next 20 years.

MvG relied a lot on youthful desire and adrenalin for his drive and success, which obviously gets harder and harder with age and with more excellent younger players in the field. Taylor always relied on work ethic with his desire, a slow drip drip drip, as opposed to MvG's pow pow pow. Taylor was also in his 20s and a married father of multiple children when he started in professional darts, while MvG was a teenager and went through life changes over time that change priorities.

It's why it's a fascinating thing to watch. My gut says Luke H has 10 to 15 where he could dominate. He's done the tours, the grind etc. His weight loss and fitness is a huge boon (wonder, like when golfers realised tone / flexibility was a good thing) and his mental game seems very sound.

He's young too.
A +1 from Thorn.

A far more impressive thing is he has already won 6 TV ranking majors.

He is already 5th on that list all time in the PDC above the likes of RvB and Floor Warrior Gando.

Taylor 64
MvG 29
Wade and Wright 7 each
Hump 6
Team Corvid 2025 consists of the following 12 players.

Clayton, Littler, Gilding, De Sousa, Wright, Evans, Campbell, Scutt, Lauby, Rob Owen, Patrick Geeraets and Justin Hood.
