Final round of the US Open golf.

10pm on ITV Granada: Room at the Bottom. It's an ok sitcom. I have it on DVD from Network ( :( RIP).

Saturday 20th June 1970. Radio Time and TV Times, ninepence each.

An unusual Test Match at Lord's has reached Day 3 on BBC1.

The final episode of arguably the best ever Doctor Who story: Inferno.

Then a new episode of Dad's Army. 'SEXY LADY' in the credits, very interesting.

The 1970 World Cup is nearly over. The 3rd place play-off is on ITV.

The previous week's cliffhanger. You'd be tuning in like fuck. Followed by the football.

Saturday 20th June 1981.

Wimbledon beginning. The Ashes continuing.

A Hi-De-Hi repeat. Worzel Gummidge on ITV, no thanks. I struggled to comprehend that the Doctor was a freaky scarecrow.

It is a repeat of the third episode, originally broadcast only 3 months earlier it seems.

It's amazing what they made into comic strips.

Saturday 21st June 2008.

This might well be new Who in its pomp. Series 4. It was everywhere.

A Euro 2008 quarter-final on a channel unconfirmed. Not a single home nation had qualified for the tournament.

I have a very soft spot for The Two Ronnies Sketchbook.

This was the game. I vaguely remember the occasion. Hiddink, Arshavin, extra-time. Peter Drury.

Monday 23rd June 1969.

The opening day at Wimbledon. 54 years ago today. It is even available in colour on BBC2, woof.

A very sensitive appeal by The Spastics Society.

The Archers on Radio 4 because when isn't it?

Saturday 24th June 2000. The Radio Times is 79p.

Glastonbury is chewing up BBC2. The first two episodes of Charmed are on Channel 5. Horn.

Euro 2000 has reached the last 8. England famously didn't make it that far having chinned it to Romania.

There are two digital-only BBC channels: BBC Choice and BBC Knowledge

Saturday 25th June 1966.

Doctor Who. Coming to the end of the first Doctor's era. At least he was the first Doctor before he was retconned as a girl... I know the feeling. Will the show survive beyond Hartnell, nobody knows.

Interesting to see Wimbledon on ITV...
