I suppose there will come a time when the ProTours behind closed doors will gradually be phased out in favour of Euro Tour/World Series type events (who knows, the latter might expand and be ranked in time), but we're a long way off that yet

Re: Darts articles in the Media thread
I doubt this will happen. Unless the expand the events from 48 to 64 to allow more TC's involved and it could be like Snooker

Squeeze more PCs into weekends is the solutionoche balboa wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 9:48 am PDC Calendar is getting full as it is
30 Pro Tours (15 Weekends)
13 Euro Tours (13 Weeks)
1 Week for Q School
Worlds (2 weeks at the end of the year)
Matchplay, WGP, Grand Slam (2 weekends)
Euro, Players, UK Open, World Cup, Masters, World Series finals (1 Weekends)
5 World Series events (5 weekends)
The next week off for the top players is the 10th June. its crammed
PC Saturday, Sunday, Monday
ETQ Tuesday
On a given weekend. Eventually the Monday PCs free up enough weekends to put on more Euro Tours in June, August and September.
No reason why you can't have floor events during the World Series but that's already been mentioned.
The long blackout in August is unnecessary imo. Granted I don't play so I wouldn't know but players who miss the Matchplay can go like 3 months without playing ranking darts.

Not exactly darts related but...
Matchroom had discussions with the RFL in 2018 and nothing came of those. Eddie Hearn has since described Rugby League as 'beyond fucked'.

Hearns have got to realise they can't keep controlling sports. They should have settled for what they have had. it being "Fucked" isn't the issueRogg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 3:39 pm Not exactly darts related but...

Exactly how much league have you watched Oche because I think this is just a continuation of your dislike of Matchroom/The Hearns.oche balboa wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 3:45 pmHearns have got to realise they can't keep controlling sports. League has basically stagnated being the RFL are incompetent. You only need to look at the way some of the directors of the clubs (Bradford in particular) have gotten away with murder under the watchful eye of the RFL. The RFL make the cunts that are supposed to make sure footie directors are fit and proper look organised. Union of course has done a BDO and accepted its role as being "TrAdItIoNaL" and the mutant retarded brother of League.
Do I think league is fucked? No, but it's not going anywhere at present. The last 13 years have seen no progress. It's no bigger or profitable than it was before. It being a team sport and other complexities means the Hearns and Matchroom can do next to nothing to improve it. There has to be change and it starts with the RFL management.

That's a new name for mongs.
