We've gor a cup match like that coming up.

1 x 6 a side 1001
3 x pairs 501
6 x singles 401

All 1 leg
6 A side 1001 must be a nightmare. It's a long wait between throws
Not sure if it is still played now but the O.D.D.A Stadium cup was 4 a side 1001 best of 3 and that was bad enough, Each round was 4 teams per venue and when there were 13/14 divisions with 8 teams in most it was tough for any team to win.

We did win it in 1999 playing for the Exeter Hall in Cowley, Oxford, Our team was Terry Wood, Jimmy Battle, Simon Ambler and myself, Of the 4 I believe it is only myself and Terry that still plays darts.

It's not great and the short format makes it a lottery pretty much

Its always a rough game when you throw all your bad scores in 1 leg. Should have won 2-0, lost 2-1 but the last leg I just couldn't get out the 5's and 1's. Scores of 7, 11 and 15 were common. But the first 2 legs were pretty good, had about 4 100+ scores and my finishing in the 1st leg was good. That last leg though....

But, and this is huge for me, after I took a couple of minutes to myself I was laughing about it with my team mates afterwards which is an improvement on how I reacted in the past. So another step forward :)

Gotta take the rough with the smooth mate! Having a laugh about it is important. You’re not on TV and it doesn’t affect you once you get home. Enjoying it again is what I’ve been pursuing for the last year or so.

Might not be for everyone but I’ll have a laugh at myself during the leg if I’m playing particularly bad.

I had two months off and still have two more 180s than anyone else in the league 😂

Completely agree mate. It was just one of those unfortunate games but being able to shrug it off is not something I've excelled at in the past

our season is almost over.
my team and I are in the finals for the league championships.
It's this Sunday, which really sucks as I'll miss a lot of the UK Open final day.

I will be visiting the UK in a few weeks. Anyone up for a game of darts?

Or anal sex and a pint?

I have a confession to make. I hate darts and I don’t drink.

You still wanna meet?

Sadly we lost in the final. Our semi final went the full distance and I think we just ran out of steam. Few of the games could have gone either way and best of 1 leg is always a lottery but congratulations to the opposition, they deserved it.

We're proud of what we achieved though, back to league action next week :)

Though neither of us played well all night, managed to emerge Men's Pairs champions on Thursday; always nice to end the season with a winners trophy.

Played a lot of darts of the last week so may end up giving the 2 singles tournaments a miss this week, plus I have a manic weekend coming up
