I hope Duff is already practicing hard for this. It wouldn't be a shame for Mitchell, if Thornton or Duff would steal the title from him.

Senna was taking the piss. Mitchell is probably the favourite for the title but a lot of people could win it.

Mitchell's odds are 11/2. Even if we go a bit shorter, say 4/1, that's still very far from being odds on favourite.

Last year Thornton 7/1 was the standout player with his seasonal average pre tournament. This time it's Scotty. Who's gonna beat him? £50 @ 11/2. Lucky to get a fiver on.

Fair play to them for reducing the cost for the stream. Last year it was £25 to watch all sessions and it's US$10 this time.

Rogg is desperate for this to fail

He told his mates at a book club that

“PDC should be the only tv darts, these old farts make me sick. I feel sorry for how matt Porter is feeling”

Did the right thing. And a lot around the age bracket will do the same thing

I see the rationale for Thornton. I don't think Gates should have done it however.

Meh. CDC/Modus/WDF/Seniors - Enough there really with only going to the UK a few times

What Gates could get

World Seniors, WDF Worlds (2023 might be a struggle), World Masters, Modus, CDC Contential Cup, PDC Worlds, US Masters

All without a tourcard.

If he can't commit to playing in the UK regularly I understand that. But he is at a point in his career where he has hype around him from doing well in the PDC. They would go head over heels to have a tour card holder from the US again. With all respect to Van Dongen he hasn't been competitive on the tour. It's a possibility to make the next step in his career and when is he going to do it if not urgently? He's above 50 so doesn't have a lot of time. He's not on the decline yet.

Opposed to someone like Thornton who doesn't really have a perspective in the pro game anymore. He's not going to improve at darts suddenly. He's better off being the big fish in a few small ponds.
