Next to Panama?

I knew where Costa Rica was anyway. And me saying Panama was a reference to Viz's flounce

Some things flying over Gentle's head this evening. But he's a great lad so it's all forgiven

That's because you can't read a map these days, mate.

Don't worry about it mate, you're too old to score anyway.

Some big averages flying in early doors. If portela doesn't win this he should pack it in

They had an event before this, and while I can't see the brackets, I can see the results, some very tame stuff even from the leading lights of this competition, Portela with the highest average of the event in the low 80s (against the Spanish-Argentine), but also with some averages in the 60s...

Seems like Sudesh (AKA Kerry), former Worlds participant and 2 time finalist of this competition isn't even there, though Stormin' Norman Madhoo is (although I wouldn't expect him to win the event)

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Portela strolls to victory in Costa Rica, nobody came close to beating him, he didn't drop a leg until the final where he beat a local lad 6-2. Average for the event was a mere 78, albeit I imagine some of that is down to opponents being nowhere near being able to take advantage of missed doubles

Grim, hopefully he can average at least mid 80s, can’t bare to watch him get 3-0’d 1st round with a 71 average

Well, in fairness, although Portela is no great shakes, he doesn't disgrace himself when he gets on that Worlds stage, and it's a lot easier to average in the 70s when there's absolutely nothing coming back at you

I'll be rooting for the lad at the Worlds for sure, unless he's up against one of my jobbers like Jason Lowe or Andy Boulton of course
