I think he secretly likes Duzza too
And Wade
You’ve forgotten his all time favourite, I shan’t say his name, but he is a two time amateur champion and he likes to throw plastic bats into the crowd.
No
His 2000 world title had ‘arguably’ a stronger field than the PDC field. It was certainly comparable, unlike the huge gap in recent years.

Ted would have never won in a unified field

Taylor was easily the best player in the world that year.

The likes of Priestley and Part would have also given Ted a tough game.

That’s not the point though. It’s about the overall field. I’m sure you have said previously that there isn’t much between the 2 fields that year.

As for the argument Ted wouldn’t have won in a unified field? Maybe not, but it doesn’t work like that. Phil has lost to people he should have never lost too in early rounds, whose to say he doesn’t lose like that in a unified field.

Indeed, the BDO field probably had more depth.

However, if you compare the competition that Taylor actually faced to the competition that Hankey actually faced, there isn't much between them. Granted, Mason was a tougher opponent than any of Taylor's opponents in the PDC version. Yet, the rest of Ted's opponents averaged below 90. Meanwhile, Warriner averaged 92, and Priestley averaged more in the PDC final than Baxter did in the BDO final.

I think it's far more likely that Ted would have been tripped up by the likes of Part, Warriner, Harrington or Manley, than Taylor tripped up by Mason, Fordham, Baxter or Headshaker. Taylor averaged between 103-105 in the PDC Worlds up until the final. Mason broke the ton barrier once at the BDO Worlds in round 1, and that was just barely. No other players broke the ton barrier in either championship.

I can't stand Taylor as a person, but the 2000 version of him was a league above the rest of the world. Truth be told, that version of Taylor would eat today's players alive.

Lakey been the original championship. It's not matter how much cash you pump in the circus if you only get clowns like Mardell and One Dart Manley to show for it. BDO continued to be dominant with players like Hankey, Barneveld Burnett. Let's remember the lesson Barney taught Phil in 2007. That was BDO Barney in full form. If he wasn't a fat lazy cunt he would have sent Phil to retirement

A lot of players in BDO could have took Taylor at their best. Wolfie Adams would have had a shot in early 2010s. Scott Mitchell's finishing when he won the BDO reminded me of prime Taylor.

Let's not forget the people who continued to shape PDC came from the BDO in the last decade. Whitlock, Thornton, Barney, Webster, MVG, Duzza all major winners in the PDC

Would have been 50-50. Taylor has had the better career but not many have loved with Walton at his best

Adams would have beaten the lot of them.
With one arm tied behind his back.

At a risk of opening up a can of worms. Its possible that would have happened. Majority of the better players were in the BDO and it was not amateur by that. Regardless of what Hankey would have done in a united field. He was superb by all pundits in 2000. Still debates rage on

When people mention averages vs Taylor. It was a scoring average in reality he was far better then anyone who was in the PDC at the time. He lost to a BDO Player in 2001 at the WGP

Genuine question.

Of all the players we’ve said you despised.
Is Adams the one you despise the most?

It's a myth that PDC was stronger in the 2000s. In fact Uncle Barry didn't let the best BDO players join PDC just to protect his own cash cow Taylor. Taylor paid Hearn a big amount of his winnings
