Interesting, but how many of those Yank players are nearer the 1500 mark? Baggish is probably their best player, and as much as he's had a difficult year off the oche, he's not struggled on tour
?

Have you mistyped here? He's played every single PC so far and is still 5th bottom of the new card holders, with two of the ones below him hardly playing at all. Peter fucking Hudson has done better than Baggish.
Yes, haha, that was a mistype! Was a tremendous achievement for Baggish to get the tour card given he got Covid not long before, hopefully it's a case of just writing off this season and starting effectively from January 2022

Going to be hard to recover though. Kcuik had an awful first year and despite being really great value this time around, he will still almost certainly lose his card.

The vast majority i'd say but at least seemingly a base to work from. I don't follow it with enough interest outside of these numbers and then eye-test with the players that make it to screens but I think their better players have become much sharper in matchplay situations in the last 2-3 years already.
Agreed that the CDC (or most likely the carrot of a guaranteed spot for an American at the Worlds) has helped the game there, the game seems to be in a healthier position now and it wouldn't surprise me to see another Yank on tour soon (probably Lauby), but for now, they're a work in progress

Well, the rankings are so Worlds-weighted that Kciuk might be in a position where, if he qualifies, he'll only need to win one game to keep his card, and Baggish has shown at the last two tournaments that he's well capable of that (he may also be able to do more American events next year, so who knows!). Every year there always seems to be one player who comes from nowhere to keep their tour card

Yeah takes time. I guess a good indicator would be if we see any variety in qualifiers in the next handful of years.

Lauby has qualified two years running now (albeit he was effectively parachuted in last year), and I think he's clearly the best US-based player (not including Baggish who splits his time darts-wise), but in the weekend just gone there were three players I hadn't even heard of that won events and played quite well, plus the likes of Gates, van Dongen and the usual suspects still hanging around. I think we will see some variation in qualifiers in the near future

John Part's been playing in this, gone out last 2 days first round with 78 averages though :(

John Newman Jr is favourite now as Campbell is out (Campbell has a Worlds place either way due to the EU dev tour)

Norman wins the event again...

He's about 90% to the Worlds given Campbell went out early doors.

1. Norman Jr- 58
2. Campbell- 44
3. Cameron- 42

A think a QF mathematically qualifies Norman. Cameron needs a miracle

Think he needs a quarter to guarantee it, but I'm not certain. I've seen Campbell's name listed as qualified as the Challenge Tour representative, so I guess Noster is fucked regardless?

You're right it's a QF. That's another 6 points which Campbell couldn't catch if he got 18 to win the event. Sad times to delve into such affiliate knowledge

If he qualifies, can you imagine how Gary Anderson would react to him if they played? 🎃
