All legs counting makes comebacks harder in my mind
Definitely, it's why Taylor made made the Matchplay trophy his own personal property even when he was occasionally vulnerable in the Worlds. Setplay a greater test of bottle, you can be outplayed, but win the key legs and you can beat anyone

Thought Cross would be one of those who would struggle in legplay events, even when he burst on the scene he went through massive peaks and troughs, but fair play to him for winning the Matchplay and the Euros last season

When I said John is a trash player I meant he's terribly out of form at the moment, not that I don't like him :D

Yes. In racing terms leg play allows more opportunity for the thoroughbreds to stretch their legs and pull away.

I prefer leg play and I think it's right that it's the format for 90% of tournaments. I wouldn't necessarily say set play is that much inferior though, the focus is simply different. Leg play needs a consistent approach, every leg counts the same while set play requires players to be really good in pressure situations. Comebacks might be easier in set play, but you could argue that it's easier to pull away too, if you win every set 3-2.

Set play creates more pressure points

Too many tournaments with leg play.

I wouldn't mind a few more with set play.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

I think it's fine that the set play events have their uniqueness. I could tolerate one more but don't think there's really need for it.

I like set play but I only like it because there are so few, I wouldn't want any more.

The only variation they could do would be a World Masters style best of 3 leg sets, which would be shit
