Who knows what will happen with that Challenge Tour, it's hard enough to arrange bubbles for ProTour events, but CT events are potentially twice as big. I suspect we'll have some hastily-arranged weekends towards the end of the year when things will (hopefully!) be better and will end up with about 12/16 events

So, he'll take two spots, right? For him and his invisible dog?

Also a few parking spots for the tractor. Unless the Worlds is moved to Bournemouth that is

Hearing off Twitter that the Asian Tour and the Tom Kirby Irish Matchplay have been cancelled. Shame about the Asian Tour, we've seen a lot of positive signs coming out of that part of the world. I guess the Tom Kirby being cancelled means it's Milton Keynes again for the Grand Prix then?

Useful breakdown of where each qualifying route stands as we are. I don't envy the people who have to try and organise a solution to this...

Hold Qualifiers is the only solution, but even that will be tough

Rankings is the only thing they can go on

If ever there was year for the PDC to just rely on name recognition this is it when it comes to international qualifiers. Fully suspect Baggish and Young to be selected from America. And to be honest no complaint from this useless yank on that. Most likely Jeff Jeff Smith from The great white North on merit. And Paul Lim somehow will be included, even tho he is a soft tip cunt i have no problem with him being squeezed in.

Jeff Smith is well on course to qualify via the ProTour anyway (he's well in the frame to make the Grand Prix as well which would be pretty impressive on his first year back on tour). Perhaps they'll be able to sort out one-off qualifiers in some places (although the fact the Irish qualifier has been cancelled isn't a good sign), but if not, I wonder if they'll have to use last season's rankings?

You'd be absolutely devastated if you were an African player and the event got cancelled this year, the first time in ages that it's opening up for someone other than Devon Petersen to qualify

Leung is another one who's currently inside the qualifying spots via the ProTour (by £3k so it's not like he's dead set, but you don't imagine there'll be loads more events this season so it's looking good for him)

SKY will probably fight for Petersen to be in x2.

Unbeknownst to seemingly all of us, Danny Lauby has taken the first North American spot at the Worlds this season. He's been awarded this spot via his victory in the Continental Cup last year

Should favour the more consistent ones, probably Darin Young and Jim Long.

Well last season Young dominated, so you'd have to make him favourite on the American side of things, although it's hard to tell with so few (none?) events in the past 6 months. Would like to see Matt Campbell back at Ally Pally, he can throw a dart an unlike most international qualifiers isn't middle aged

Yep Campbell would be good to have back.

From the Southern Hemisphere I really hope Ben Robb makes it back too, think he is a talent that could hold down a place on tour. And to a lesser extent Robbie King who showed glimpses last year but seemed more focused on enjoying/milking the tv time so maybe would be more focused second time round.

They usually have a play-off (and in fairness they probably will given they're fairly safe in New Zealand), but if not, Haupai Puha is top of the DPNZ standings at the moment I believe, and he's capable, he's done pretty much everything but qualify for this. Whoever it is, they'll be better than some of the players we've had emerge from that qualifier in the past!
