Don't be fooled dear readers. The Thorn actually believes this to be true.
Is there an argument for Fordham being top 10-15 all time? The year he won the worlds in the BDO was extremely strong. Merv King at his best, Barney, Adams, Hankey, Gando. Fordham just cut through the field like knife through butter.
He looks reasonably accustomed to encounters with butter.

In my all-time Top 20 for sure. As you say he beat a field of proper players to win the big one, arguably the strongest field of that decade.
1 good week gets him a place in the all time top 20?
Dellar as well?
Deller is above Bristow because he beat him.

An iconic warning from history from which few have managed to learn. MVG and Taylor doing it to each other and paying the price. It's a youtube compilation video that no-one seems to have made.

Could be. It's hard to compare it with other famous disasters. Generally people are at least attacking the object when they slip, snatch and choke.

You like haha chess? Any notorious comparable moments?

I dont recall any in world championship matches.
There was an occasion in a rapid game where carlsen blundered held his head in his hands and resigned immediately.

Jocky going for the wrong finish for the title was a pretty big brain fart. I suppose he got away with it though.

I think he was on 104 to win the 1989 World final. Hit T18, S14 and then went for tops instead of double 18.

Not worth a rewatch if John Lowe isn't involved, right?

Contributions always welcome.

If Adams wins the seniors it will prove once and for all that the majority of Taylor's world titles are worth nothing.

Wade is less of a wanker than most make out.
Boring Brendas number one and (almost) only fan.

Smithys number one and (definitely not) only hater.
