They should just play all of the Euro Tours in Middlesbrough as the virus won't go anywhere near Middlesbrough as it would have no effect on the specimens that live there

Planning to put ET2 at the end of May, in place of the German PC events. Seems a little optimistic

They've probably done that so that they have a target date to get things sorted. What will probably happen is in a few weeks time they'll push it back to the summer.

I wonder what will happen if the likely thing happens and they can't have it then, will they be able to just push the PC events back to that weekend? Subject to the national and regional governments in Germany obviously, but will the situation improve to the extent that they can put on events behind closed doors by then?

With this mass gathering thing supposedly being implemented tomorrow, they'll probably either postpone or call off all the euro tours before the matchplay cut off. As for the premier league, they should probably just play the ones in the uk behind closed doors and cancel the ones in Berlin and Rotterdam. The players championship series will probably be the only PDC events that will go ahead since there are less than 500 people at a players championship event.

Be a huge headache for the PDC if they have to put the PL behind closed doors bearing in mind the nature of the event

True but they did it in 2018 for the UK Open so they have experience with playing major events behind closed doors.

The UK Open is a ranked major, the PL is an unranked and basically just exists for the hullabaloo it brings, no way it gets put behind closed doors

Gentle is right. Can you imagine if on Thursday there was nobody in the venue other than the players, officials and Sky staff? It would be an absolute disaster.

The cancelled PL night in Exeter and the subsequent UK Open in 2018 were completely freak occurrences that impacted them that week. I don't think the PDC expected the snow to be that bad.

They got more spaces now in the calender so if the matchplay is not in July, then it'll definitely be in August.
I still think the matchplay will be in July but you never know what's going to happen in these circumstances.

They'll probably move the world cup to around about that time as well.

Not a prayer. The chance of any sporting event with a crowd in England before 2021 is remote.

I'm not sure if the World Cup is gonna happen this year at all. Even if it's possible to hold it here in Germany, whether in June or later: With the need to have players travel in from all over the world for it, that event is even more at the mercy of local restrictions than other tournaments are. A sudden new flare-up of Covid-19 in some random area and suddenly a bunch of teams might no longer be able to travel at very short notice, either because they're barred from leaving, their flights are cancelled, or because they risk not being able to get back home. I don't know if the PDC is gonna want to take the risk of having a pretty inconsequential unranked tournament turn into a public shambles.

It means they are sticking pins in the calendar and plucking dates from thin air because they know they're likely able to play nothing and obviously for whatever commercial reasons it suite them to constantly push everything back rather than straight out cancel anything. Dates can be revisited if by some miracle anything can actually take place.

Zero chance until a vaccine is finished methinks. Would be a miracle if anyone gets close to that by december.
