This event had a good standard of darts as it should have given this is the top 8. Some excellent matches and lets be honest many of you thought for a minute or two krusty was going to pull it off for the win. But alas it was confirmed krusty couldn't even pull a Bulgarian hooker.

But for the love of God the camera work was absolute shit. So bad it honestly ruined the event. The number of winning doubles that actually didnt make it live to the viewer was fucking unbelievable. An embarrassment to the PDC product. Doesnt matter who was doing the work BBC or some dodgy outfit from gipo land, all reflects badly on the PDC. And yet again another great story for the fake journalist of darts. Bet the lazy fucks don't do a thing about it except take the PDC statements and print those.

Phil would have been the first to do that, but never made the WSoD Finals final, let alone won it. Lost to Wright in the semis both years he appeared.
That's nice but he'll always be Big Throbbo's bitch to me.

Your 4 Champions League finals.

2016 - Phil Taylor defeated Michael van Gerwen 11-5
2017 - Mensur Suljovic defeated Gary Anderson 11-9
2018 - Gary Anderson defeated Peter Wright 11-4
2019 - Michael van Gerwen defeated Peter Wright 11-10

Nor indeed the whole elusive "Triple Crown" of mastering the Scania Open, drowning in the Lakeside lake and falling downstairs at the Antwerp Classic. Not recommended in that order, obviously.

Ridiculous. But thanks for stirring memories of the Taylor-Scholten PL SF. Perhaps my favourite scar of all.

Wright's mental stress over MVG is not anywhere near Scholten's issues with Taylor. Wright has beaten MVG on stage and on TV many times, including in the semis of this event last year.
It's 2nd only to my favourite Scholten/Taylor moment, the 16-1 massacre at Blackpool. It summed up their "rivalry" perfectly.

Let's compare brutal scars. I remember that one well. Even Taylor was furious. In Scholten's defence, he apparently had a back injury and was in excruciating pain that night. He wasn't alone tbf.

Scholten never beat Taylor, but as Rogg says, that 2005 Premier League semi final when Scholten led nearly all the way, going 11-7 up in a race to 13, before Taylor won the last 6 legs, Scholten looked completely in charge for so long. Also, in the 2007 Premier League, Scholten got two 7-7 draws against Taylor in a year (Taylor's third in a row) when Taylor won the Premier League undefeated. However, at their 2007 World Matchplay quarter final, Taylor beat Scholten 16-1. Even when Scholten was years past his best following his injury problems and surgeries that began plaguing him in October 2008, Taylor had to work hard to beat Scholten 9-7 at the 2012 UK Open.

Wright's issues are about hitting that final double to win a major TV final against a really big name like van Gerwen. I honestly think he'd be better off admitting this fault of his out loud, because only then can he possibly take enough pressure off himself to overcome it in future. It's all very well saying that MvG didn't deserve it because he was getting outplayed for most of the final, but hitting the winning dart is a part of the game. You've got to be able to put matches to bed once you get into that situation to win the title, and Wright has failed more than once. There was also last year's World Grand Prix final when Wright missed darts at decisive moments of the match against a subpar (by his standards) van Gerwen.

Agreed, and the camera work too though, plus that shouty commentator who was way too encouraging laughing at Nicholson's "humour". But playing wise a great event.
