The problem is that now players aren't willing to attend because of the seedings, people won't be buying tickets since there won't be a lot of T16 players, and people won't watch on TV because of the same reason...

If the rumor is true shows you how important one of the few BDO majors is to its players. Sad as I think the masters is one of the majors the BDO should be pumping money into. Very important internationally as it gives a load of players a chance to prove their metal in a world wide fiekd of players even if it it's amateur darts.

Fordham qualifies for the 2019 masters only because he won lakeside in 2004.
Hankey's 2000 lakeside title even counts. From nearly 20 years ago.
Barney should be on the list too then, but isn't.
Then there's Big Geert, eligible through his 2015 wdt title.
