Raymond van Barneveld of course, he is really playing quite well and only needs a bit of luck for a good run.

He'll be lucky to not get knocked out in the first round.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the head shaking postman complaining that he doesn't get a bye to the final and then a 6 set head start.

Can never back against MVG, Cross looks most likely other than him. Gando having a quiet year but usually turns up at the World's, he's not been able to get any consistent form together in the first half of the year but has tended to end the year stronger than he starts it.

Hard to see Smith not winning a major some day but still don't think he's ready, he goes missing too often in games. Gurney is similar to Smith in that he goes missing more than he should and is normally fighting back tears every game. Price always looks crap in set play, Durrant doesn't score consistently well enough to win a tournament of this size, fuck knows which Wade will turn up and Wright is a perennial bottle job.

Aspinall is probably the best outside bet if he can play consistently for the rest of the year.

Scenes when he rolls back the years one more time against MvG before massively flopping in the next round

Apparently I voted for Cross, so possibly.

Fancied Price for a few months. Reminds me a bit of Cross 2 years ago when he kept pushing MVG then finally did him in the worlds - well suppose MVG lost.

There's only Price I fancy to take MVG in a longer format at the moment. Too many bottlejobs in upper echelons of rankings.

Clemens, Barney and maybe someone with no scar tissue like De Sousa or Hughes could give him problems in last 64

MVG at the min can't see anyone getting near him but I wouldn't rule out Cross or Gurney in set play

Voted for MvG, still difficult to see past him at the moment. Price would be my second choice.

Well, I think that bad patch is behind him now. The only slim chance he has of being beaten at Ally Pally I think is in the opening round. Best of 7 sets and over, I can't really see anyone touching him.
