I don't think it's been confirmed yet. General sense suggests that signing up should be enough, as that would reduce numbers in the actual Q-School room and leave the serious card hunters to get on with it. But...sennafan24 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 5:36 pm Do players have to actually compete in Q School to become a PDPA Associate Member?
Or can they just sign up and then not turn up?

I swear the likes of IFM only attended 1 day last year. Just so they could play the CT, etc.Rogg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 5:47 pmI don't think it's been confirmed yet. Last year, yes, but the situation may be different this time around. I think ifm played the whole thing mind. I'm sure he beat one of Duzza's many, many conquerors. Not sure about this one. I mean, it'll be interesting for us fans, but it's an added layer of pressure for the players who happen to be chosen for the stream (as if any more pressure is needed), but with so few events that it can't even itself out like it does on the ProTour.
(Unless it's not random, and only the latter stages is streamed, which would seem more fair to me)

Good that they have expanded the CT weekends.

Will any of the posters in this forum that are going reveal their true identity so we can follow them in January? Would love to have more players to follow rather than just the Norn Iron guys.

Would you believe I'm Denis Ovens?

Yes, I'm Keith Carter. I have money to burn, that's why I go to Q School every year despite being absolutely hopeless at darts. And this is also how I can afford spending my whole day on forums.

Right. I at first believed that was Denis Ovens. Then “the thorn” posts. Although fairly new here I have noticed your posts are usually loaded with sarcasm and acetic wit which leads me to disbelieve not only in your claim but also the previous post from the hobo.
Beginning to regret asking as I will not know who to believe!
Is there any honest posters in this place( apart from DBG of course)

Re: 2020 Q-School Watch (16-19 Jan)
I'm going to start laying the groundwork for a 2021 Q-School entry.
I figure if I start lying about absolutely every facet of my life over the next 12 months, I will drum up enough interest to make some private bets over whether or not I will actually go this time next year. Free entry to Q-School here I come!
Just don't grass me up to the PDPA for illegal betting you guys.

It's pretty simple mate, my name is Keith Carter as I said. I regularly go to Q-School even though I know I'm a bit below what's needed to win a tour card. Thornton is my idol, I dream of being as good as him one day.Slasher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 12:49 pm Right. I at first believed that was Denis Ovens. Then “the thorn” posts. Must be an amazing experience. I used to play NI open and IOM open knowing I had a cat in hells chance of winning. The darts and craic was truly brilliant. I did get BDO ranking points once, well 1 point but was a great boast in the pub team! Got &50 winnings in the IOM which led to me losing 3 times that in the casino. But fair play to you, I’ll be watching hoping you get a run!
