Sadly, due to ill health, Trina Gulliver MBE has informed the BDO she will not be able to participate in the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championships. The 10-times Ladies World Champion has participated in every World Championship since she won the inaugural event back in 2001, however has had to make the difficult decision to withdraw.

Following the qualification of both Corrine Hammond and Kirsty Hutchinson via the BDO playoffs, Australia’s Tori Kewish has been invited to participate as the next player on the Ladies BDO ranking table at the time of cut-off.

Australian International Kewish has dominated the ladies darts scene in Australia this season, winning seven BDO ranked events, including the Australian Open and the Australian Grand Masters and will face Beau Greaves in place of Gulliver in the opening round of the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championships on Saturday 4th January.

Everyone at the BDO wishes Trina a speedy recovery and we hope to see her back on the oche again soon.

The prize fund has been confirmed to the players, supposedly. Whether they'll actually get the money is, well... no sign of a sponsor with only 23 days to go.

Until the Trina news, the first item on their website and the only thing to be posted in 8 days was 'BDO Statement', featuring that ridiculous letter assuring people that the event will actually happen. A strong look for your shop window.
