The only thing that doesnt make sense with that is the BDO and o2 websites show it as a 9 day event. So more than likely bollocks.

Why book it for 9 days if you only want 15 games?

The only way they could spread a tournament with a field of 16 over 9 days is if they changed the format to something similar to the GSOD or the 1997 PDC Worlds. They would need to have 4 groups of 4 in a round robin, with the top 2 from each group advancing into the last 8.

Over that format, 55 games would be played.

I doubt this is the case though.

Yup it seems the promoter is the guy who runs Shownights, the guy the BDO wanted to sue in the small claims court, and for some reason he is unable to put tickets on sale for an event he is promoting, asking everyone to "ask Des".

Shambles.

The delay in ticketing maybe due to poor sales for the masters. Desmond thinking punters may only choose to go to one or the other events and not both so holding back till masters is finished

Oche Balboa and the like will probably make an effort to attend both shows if they can. Whereas others, such as those attending forum meet-ups, etc, will just plan on attending the BDO Worlds (as usual).

Ticket sales for all BDO events are poor and have been for a while. There's no point in holding one event back in the hope that others will benefit

I find it hard to believe that contract itself is still up in the air with all the ways both the BDO and the o2 have made it seem that it is all locked in. However this is Des, the sort of guy they had in mind when they came up with the piss up in a brewery joke, so who knows.
