Sadly, due to ill health, Trina Gulliver MBE has informed the BDO she will not be able to participate in the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championships. The 10-times Ladies World Champion has participated in every World Championship since she won the inaugural event back in 2001, however has had to make the difficult decision to withdraw.

Following the qualification of both Corrine Hammond and Kirsty Hutchinson via the BDO playoffs, Australia’s Tori Kewish has been invited to participate as the next player on the Ladies BDO ranking table at the time of cut-off.

Australian International Kewish has dominated the ladies darts scene in Australia this season, winning seven BDO ranked events, including the Australian Open and the Australian Grand Masters and will face Beau Greaves in place of Gulliver in the opening round of the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championships on Saturday 4th January.

Everyone at the BDO wishes Trina a speedy recovery and we hope to see her back on the oche again soon.

That is a shame, her matches were still always priced wrong by bookies, was looking forward to unloading on Beau to destroy her.

After the BDO fans saw a glut of turgid 80 averages and some proper Lakeside Classics at the Alexandra Palace on Sunday, I reckon there'll be a surge of tickets for the Unofficial Unsanctioned World Professional Amateur Championships on Monday morning.


Watching that dross probably got them wetting themselves with excitement about seeing some piss poor darts live and in person.
