How many current PDC tour card holders would be the favourite to win the BDO World's if they were dropped into the draw tomorrow?
Great question. The likes of Barney, Bunting, Whitlock and Clayton are down in joint 22nd highest favourites to win Ally Pally at 150/1 (WIlliam Hill). At least a couple of those would quite possibly be favourite for Fakeside.

Big Hendo and King are joint 36th favourites. Reckon they'd fancy their chances at the Indigoat in a few weeks too if they could stay alive for long enough.

Another way of looking at this - where would clear Fakeside favourite Jim Williams fit into the Ally Pally odds? Of recent Lakeshite finalists at Ally Pally, Noppert is nowhere (relatively) at 200/1 and McGeeney 300/1.
I'd probably put every player you named as favourite. There are PDC guys at over 400/1 for the World's id probably have as favs for the BDO like Meulenkamp 400/1, Pipe is 500/1, Asada 750/1.

Going by those odds you'd have to put Williams as at being kind 700/1 if he was dropped into the PDC draw. (you could add another 0 to McGeeney's odds and i still wouldn't be tempted)

It's in SuperSwede's link but here it is too. I'm sure I remember him in the past frantically advising people not to make posts about the BDO's disastrous affairs because of how bad it would look to broadcasters, potential sponsors etc. Oh well. He really went for it with this one.

Yeh seems farfetched for now. Too much gone too soon. This time next year however....

The last published accounts have the best part of £800k on the Balance Sheet mate. Will take a while to spunk that and don't forget they get revenue in from county and superleague which is pure profit as there's no cost attached

I understand this.

But I've read that these vanity events that the BDO run cost 6 figures plus. If they had 800k in say early 2018, and have ran 6 vanity events since then, then their finances will be running out quickly.

The £800k was as at May 2018, post WDT so 2018 Masters, 2019 Lakeside are the events included in the May 2019 Accounts which we won't see till February. Worst case there's still £500k cash and that's being very harsh as Potter pretty much covered Lakeside. Post May 2019 is the interesting one as it takes some doing to spunk £500k in a year.

those numbers are surprising to me and makes it even more remarkable that they continuously manage to make a joke of their brand. There must be a genuine opportunity there to make decent money if it was put into competent hands even in today's climate.

Lakeshite as bad as it was at times, was the BDO only relative success venue, putting ticket prices through the roof and moving, this is it for them, and going by Mitchel's statement, i think they recognize it also..

wolfie more like the clueless fucking father drunk waiting to cash his dole check to get to the local bookie while forgetting his kids birthday and his wifes anniversary. OTOH if those are his children in that picture who could blame him for being the useless fuck of a father trying to forget that he even had children to begin with.
