If duzza qualifies via the pdc it will kill the mushrooms as he chalks up wins for "team pdc"

Porter supposedly met with Uncle Des weeks ago to sort out the BDO 8 but ehh. Always the guesswork.

The winner of this CatasTrophy will be at the Slam, is it fair to assume. If their face fits...?

For those keeping score, Mensur is now in and Hughes is sacked. Everyone in the top 13 apart from Shitlock is qualified.

There remain 6 events from which there can be qualifiers, the GP, the euro champs, theWSOD finals and the three euro tours (everyone in the champs league is qualified).

As per the Q&A with Porter posted elsewhere, chances of the awful qualification methods being changed in the future look grim.
Boring Brendas number one and (almost) only fan.

Smithys number one and (definitely not) only hater.

TWO European Tour champions are now outside the Slam spots, one of whom is actually inside the world's Top 16. Hilarious.

Joe Cullen's ET11 win isn't enough to move him in to a tentative Grand Slam spot.

Both Durrant and Ratajski have won 2 PCs this year, in fact. Lads in grey could make an 8 but no no.

Ratajski was very lucky that Taylor and Cadby couldn't/didn't take up their places in the end last year, otherwise him and Hopp would have missed out. They earned every bit of that luck though, what a journey to the Grand Slam they had! Didn't even know Ratty qualified until after the event!

Let's have a look at the top 16 in the BDO:

Image

Does the world really need to see Hamilton, Robson, Gary Stone, Parletti, Farmer Scott, etc comprise half of the GSOD field? Given the standard of the final stages of the recent World Trophy, event, the BDO players would stink up the joint, especially if a few of them advanced past the group stage where the format is longer.

One of the Facebook comments on the article ha
Steve Gaskell I agree based on abilities and Merit, but I've always viewed this as a tournament between both codes. On that basis I'd like 16 from each. The higher rankings of the PDC largely comprise players developed in the BDO format, I fully expect that though the PDC will dominate the latter stages, some BDO players may thrive and play to their highest level. Let's not forget that Waites has won this before and made another final, yet he is not going to feature. Durrant is also technically BDO for this one. I'd have to check my facts but I believe the only PDC world champion since 1995 that hasn't come through BDO is Adrian Lewis. Priestley, Taylor, Part, Barney, Anderson,MVG. Even with runners up, everyone has played in BDO except Lewis and Smith.
