Seeing as Skweeshit is completely fucking useless as a mod and as forum user who can't start a bleeding new thread; I will do it.

Here it is the thread for all things CDC.
Weekend #3 in Chitown (i.e. Chicago) playing events #5 and #6

Streaming for Event #5
https://www.facebook.com/champdarts/

this above is the youtube for those not on facebook.
Improved stream over last year. Quality is pretty good, I won't vouch for the camera work but that is improved and I won't certainly vouch for the comms. I could live happily if I never heard again "that's a 180" or the even worse "so and so to serve". Fucking numpties this isn't tennis or volleyball.

The increased interest from top players actually prioritizing CDC events this year is gaining my attention. Standard seems to be up substantially and that is what has been sorely missing over the last few years. Ok, it has been there in fits and spasms in prior years but I think the field is much deeper now and that is what they needed to push these players to raise the standard.

The one player that I find interesting is that Breneman. He has a nice easy throw doesn't seem to get rattled and plays the big matches with a bit of passion.
Chuck Power Scorer Puleo has been a bit of a disappointment so far on this tour, done well on the L.A. tour (for those not familiar a regional tour with a few good players on the west coast of 'merica). Funny thing last time I checked he actually is facing opps with a higher 3DA on that tour than he is on the CDC tour. Think he might be putting too much pressure on himself with the whole thing of quitting his job and doing the darts full time in 'merica. Also I listened to his description of his practice and honestly he is going about it all wrong.

realized why I was enjoying yesterday more than previous events, a big reason no Cosell on the comms. He was back today and as usual he brought his diarrhea of the mouth. Eugenia was doing ok by himself. As soon as useless Cosell shows up the two act like giddy school girls, giggling over stupid shit like singing safety dance. They talk about everything except what is going on in the match. By the time they get to paying attention setup shots and co's are over. No sense of timing. They seriously have to get rid of cosell he is truly shit.

the american huffman (91) denies tha canadian campbell (92.2) back to back wins in the cosmo classic weekend, 6-4

yesterday there were 11 90+ averages

today, with the same number of matches, there were 17 90+ averages
including 3 matches with 100+ avgs.

Campbell was just a point shy of Long for top Canadian after event 5 so he's now provisionally at Ally Pally, although I don't have the full table yet What's the lowdown on him?

Points allocation goes like this:
Win: 18
Final: 12
Semi-final: 8
Quarter-final: 6
Last 16: 4
Last 32: 2
Last 64: 1
Young looking pretty secure at the top with 4 events to go (though he was in a similar position last year and messed it up)
Canadian race looking very interesting, nobody running away with that at all

First time I saw Campbell play was this weekend. Thing that impressed me is his stroke is one of the best I have seen on the CDC streams. And he gets the results in grouping darts. Good demeanor as well from what I have seen so far. Excellent addition to the CDC. Right now I rate his prospects better than say a Lauby in the long run.

Puleo played better on Sunday, getting back to playing on his avg game. This bodes well for the yanks chances to have a decent run in the WCup. To me Puleo always looks a little stiff, never looks comfortable. He like Beaton doesn't have the perfect follow thru. But for me what differentiates the two is Beaton is smoother, relaxed and less movement in the head, shoulder and rest of the body. Think if Puleo could get rid of the excess movement he would find a little extra in his game.

see that richard ashdown is coming over to the CDC's continental cup this year in NYC.
sometimes progress is made with little steps, not big strides.
(no pun intended)

Good news for CDC streaming. Now lets hope they use him properly that includes improving commentary as well as using proper caller and getting some kind of audience to create some atmosphere. Open the doors for free, should be able to at least get a 100 homeless people to fill seats.

I'm all for free, but this time they're charging $10 for a table seat and $5 to stand and watch the action.

was being a bit sarcastic as I don't think they will get that many fannies in the seats, so filling the place and getting atmosphere is probably worth maybe taking a small hit. From what I read, the stream so far has been welcomed but many aren't watching because it really doesn't come across as something special or exciting. Add to that the comms is pretty much crap. The quality of the streams this year has been far and away better, a lot less funeral parlor and a bit of color splashed at least with the sponsor logos out and in view. But still lacks that extra something to brighten the whole thing up.

a tenner is just about free for NYC, you can't even spit in the gutter for that price.
What is the venue they are using and where it is located? What is the capacity or how many tix are they making available? They are going to need to provide some video screens regardless as you can't see shit with darts even in a small venue.
