If I were Mensur, I would rather be #10.

Ratajski incredibly due to gatecrash the top 20 by the Worlds. In other news, Jamie Lewis' hopes are fading more rapidly than a Ricky Evans 180

Steve Lennon missing out altogether would be a big surprise, considering he's been a TV finalist this year.

Re: 2020 Greatest Show on Earth
Yes, and was at the Matchplay last year as well, I'm sure he'd have been looking to establish himself in the top 32 this year rather than battling even to make the Worlds. I think his class will tell in the end so I don't think it'll be a factor for him, but bear in mind that whoever ends the ProTour season in that 33rd spot would be in line to qualify if Jamie Lewis drops outFiss Plaps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:58 pmSteve Lennon missing out altogether would be a big surprise, considering he's been a TV finalist this year.

Meikle must be kicking himself that he didn't beat Paul Rowley this weekend...

Re: 2020 Greatest Show on Earth
Can anyone clarify.. i'm certain I heard recently on Euro Tour commentary that Cody Harris had been told he would not be permitted to go to New Zealand and enter their WC qualifier, is/could that be true?
Doesn't Petersen get in via that route in South Africa every year?

Re: 2020 Greatest Show on Earth
If it's the same as last year, Harris won't be able to compete in the DPNZ qualifier as he wasn't in the country for the DPNZ regular season, but he would be able to do the Oceanic Masters. The African qualifier is a one-off event not based on any previous events, so any African is able to compete regardless of where they are basedSuperSwede wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 3:47 pm Can anyone clarify.. i'm certain I heard recently on Euro Tour commentary that Cody Harris had been told he would not be permitted to go to New Zealand and enter their WC qualifier, is/could that be true?

Re: 2020 Greatest Show on Earth
Cheers, wasn't aware it was the same situation as last year. seems a bit counter intuitive to rule out your World Cup captain and highest profile player from representing you at the World Championships because he is trying to make a career for himself outside of the country. In my opinion they should either give their spots based on their regular season OOM (like Australia do?) or if holding a qualifier all NZ players should be eligible to enter.thegentle wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 3:54 pmIf it's the same as last year, Harris won't be able to compete in the DPNZ qualifier as he wasn't in the country for the DPNZ regular season, but he would be able to do the Oceanic Masters. Re: 2020 Greatest Show on Earth
That's what the Oceanic Masters is for, albeit as a mixed event with the Aussies, and I'm sure the possibility of doing that is a bit of a safety net in case the stuff in Europe didn't work out for him. Ironic that he totally flunked the Oceanic Masters last year but won his place at the Worlds via the Challenge Tour lol. Agree that the DPNZ event should be totally OoM based, we've seen some horror shows from there (with a bit of an asterisk over Craig Ross last year), rewarding consistency should rather than who turns up on the day should make for more competitive playersSuperSwede wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 1:44 pmCheers, wasn't aware it was the same situation as last year. seems a bit counter intuitive to rule out your World Cup captain and highest profile player from representing you at the World Championships because he is trying to make a career for himself outside of the country. Yeah it seems like the PDC should ensure the same rule is applied throughout cos as it stands now taking the two players as an example it is either seriously harsh on someone like Harris and/or extremely indulgent to someone like Petersen. (and you could argue if either of the two deserve to be indulged less it should be the tour card holder)

Ratings are his own personal formula:

Steve Lennon back in a tentative Ally Pally qualification spot!
Pleasing news, even if Lennon's hopes are still hanging on a knife edge

Burton DeWitt
@bsd987
Mickey Mansell, Steve Lennon, and Rowby-John Rodriguez continue to hold off Ryan Meikle and Matthew Edgar in the provisional World Championship spots with just two ProTour events to go. If Jamie Lewis falls out of the Top 32, it will open a spot to someone via the ProTour.
Duzza could have gone into the seeds today, but is well placed to do so anyway (especially if he plays at the Grand Slam and it contributes to his OoM total). Looking very likely that the two 2017 Lakeside finalists will overtake Lewis, Evans maybe too, especially as he has a very winnable first round at the Grand Prix
