Correct, it was the one sided raping everyone predicted. I turned it off at 4-1 and watched some Netflix and then Porn.

It's such a meaningless event. I got home from work and watched the whole last day on fast forward in about 10 minutes, which was more than it deserved.

Anyone agree that the last few tournaments have had that feel ? Too many tournaments? Or just a lack of players coming through ? Some real losers in the top 10 in my view , which is a concern ?Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 8:33 amIt's such a meaningless event. Re: World Series 2019
Noppert played the second semi and had nothing left for the final, same that happened to Price last week. I refuse to believe the player playing the first semi has no significant advantage. No matter what comms say.
I know making all these events a day longer may not be an option but it's still enfuriating. At least they should make the final sessions longer. They could easily play an exbo game between semis and final. Like they do with the world youth in Minehead, extend that to every 2-3 day event. That'd give the second player an extra 20-30 minutes to rest and get ready.

At least the Euros is a Ranking event so holds some meaning. Even if the standard is great in this one it's just so pointless.Nigel Cheeseman-Blenkinsop wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 9:27 amAnyone agree that the last few tournaments have had that feel ? Re: World Series 2019
In and of itself, the World Series is largely meaningless (and I say the same of something like the Euros despite it being a ranked event), however, they do provide opportunities for other players to win events or reach finals. Would be utterly pointless if we had the usual Wright chokefest to MvG yet again, but at least we saw a new player come through, hope Noppy can kick on now.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 9:58 amAt least the Euros is a Ranking event so holds some meaning. Be funny if despite reaching a TV final, he gets knocked out of the top 32 before the Worlds lol

Re: World Series 2019
Worth noting that MvG has either been knocked out early (to Merv, Duzza and Ross Smith of all people) or gone on to win every 'proper' TV event this year. There's plenty of players out there who can catch him cold, especially in a shorter format, but as he gets warmed up, he really only has one rival these days (and that's being generous as Cross has a poor record again him).Nigel Cheeseman-Blenkinsop wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 9:27 amAnyone agree that the last few tournaments have had that feel ? Of the current top 32, 9 are new entries, mostly young up and coming players, so that's a positive, however, for the most part, they're a long way off seriously challenging for major titles. Aspinall and arguably Duzza have been the biggest positives of this year (Duzza already beating MvG in a major, and while Aspinall hasn't yet, he doesn't seem like the kind of player who would fold to him), got to hope that the likes of de Zwaan continue their progression

White Wright Anderson Smith Wade are top 10.
Strange situation when you KNOW that 5 of your top 10 wont be winning before the Worlds even starts ! What does it say when those 5 are in the top 10 ?

The rankings are just a list of prize money and you don't know that, unless they've played the matches already.Nigel Cheeseman-Blenkinsop wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 4:50 pm White Wright Anderson Smith Wade are top 10.

But when was it different? How many pre-split finals featured neither Bristow nor Lowe? It's stiff as fuck by nature.

Evidence let last night be that unless u have a top name player in the final it will be shit. That's why when Dave and Danny were playing their semi I really wanted Danny to miss the 102. Nothing against the lad as a player it's just for the sake of the final being a lot better Chizzy needed to be there. Good weekend. Horrible final. BTW I like Mace believe there are a few too many ranking events.

Re: World Series 2019
he didn't say that though from what I remember he was asked if it was the biggest win of his career and he said "yes the toughest win" or something like that, his English isn't great but I seriously doubt in the cold light of day he puts it above a game where he had a chance to become a "World" champ. The Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 11:47 pmRogg wrote:Look at this lot.
