World Series 2019

Initial invites have been confirmed. Cadby gets three invites, seemingly as a PDC player, Aspinall gets a spin in Vegas, and Barney gets yet another final send off in Germany (though thankfully just the one event for him). Top 5 all slated for all 5 events, can't think that Ando would be particularly happy with that

It's a bit strange indeed. Not sure I like to see the same 5 in all events. Many players (notably including Gando) have said in the past that doing the World Series is quite tiring. For me this was (maybe still is) to give an opportunity to some guys who fell short of a PL place but had a decent last year. Likes of Cullen, Chizzy, Lewis, Clayton overlooked here so far IMO

Agreed.

Maybe limit it to the top 3. That would open up opportunities for the names you mentioned. Do people really need to see Wright play in every event?

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

The fucking casual pricks like Krusty bouncing around on stage. Top 3 would be fine I guess, even top 2 as Ando wouldn't want to play all of them I presume. Gurney is confirmed to be in 5 events right now, while Smith, Price and Wade are only in 1 event. Especially Wade who's in great form and won the finals last year. No balance there.

Also there is the question of whether Whitlock, Anderson and Cadby will be PDC players or locals. I hope it's the latter.

Only the one appearance for Wade, Smith, Price and Mensur. Seems a bit odd

Fair play to Aspinall, it's another good opportunity for him, and I'm sure he'll enjoy it, but yeah, he's already had a go in the Premier League as a contender. Would rather someone like Cullen got it, especially as it was basically dumb luck (ie Leeds being moved to after Judgement Night) that stopped him having a night in the Premier League. Still a chance that some of them will get a pick for Down Under if they decide to consider Cadby as a local rather than a PDC player

I think that Cadby, Whitlock and Kando will be in as PDC players not locals, due to the fact their is only 5 other players announced..
It will be interesting to see if Gando pulls out of any events, considering his comments in the DartsLive interview..
I thought Wade, Smith and Price might have got in a couple more events, and I expected Chizzy and Cullen to get a shout too..

I missed that point, just read it.. so it does look like they may play as locals then..

I don't get it at all why Asia is left out. China is a no brainer surely and a Japan event would be good as well

Apparently the company that the PDC were dealing with in China entrusted them to put on some local events and fucked up completely so they got binned. Don't care so much about China as apart from (and I'm being very generous here) Liu Yuanjun and Zong Xiaochen, there aren't really any good players here, but it's a shame that they couldn't arrange an event in Japan as they could easily fill a quota of respectable players

Ridiculous that Gurney and Wright are in all 5. Suprised that Gurney is, not Wright though. Should have distributed spaces evenly between those two, Suljovic, Wade and Price.

Suljovic are you sure? He is a boring fucker, up there with Pipe not exactly exciting box office entertainment for an exbo is he. I'd rather watch Lewis any day of the week!

How on earth is Suljovic boring? He's one of the most interesting players in the game today. He's not even that slow, only when he wants to be, so the comparison to Pipe is frankly ludicrous.

It's not all about speed. I like Mensur for his quirkiness.

I don't mind Mensur and I think he's a great guy but recently he started slowing the game down on purpose. I just can't stand that. He used to play really well when he was playing faster, I just see no need for that.

see the pdc are doing another word series - same players and a bunch of locals - bit boring isnt it - i love seeing the wizard - but do we need to see mvg the clown and anderson play each other for the millionth time - it was good the first 1234 times - but its boring now - why dont itv get creative - do a county series - get the counties involved - or a 6 nations tournament - with england scotland irelan wales holland and australia - what about a bdo vs pdc tournament at lakey - see if mvg van master the lakey stage - see how good harms really is compared to the pdc pros - instead we get the same format and the same players -

robson
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x
