Re: World Cup of Darts 2019
The world cup does have something to it, the players seem unnaturally passionate about it.
Even so its not remotely close to the majors as events go.

Most of the participants rarely play on TV. I suspect that's why they take it seriously.

I think this is good argument for not having a one year order of merit!Rogg wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 9:18 am Connor Mc Aleer @connormca16
Ian white is playing great darts at the minute England should have him playing in the World Cup instead of Michael Smith
Not a klaxon I ever expected to hear. Hopefully Whitey makes the most of today. This time tomorrow he's pure shit and MVG wins everything. Sorry mate.

I like the Pairs aspect, but the constant fist pumping between the players gets on my tits. Shame Nicholson isn't playing, always enjoyed the Nicholson meltdown!

"YUANJUN LIU will return to compete for China in the BetVictor World Cup of Darts following the withdrawal of Qingyu Zhan.
Youngster Zhan had been set to make his World Cup debut after winning through the qualifying event in China alongside Xiaochen Zong.
However, the 21-year-old has withdrawn due to a passport issue, and will be replaced by Chinese number three Liu, who is now set to make his third World Cup appearance."

Sucks for Zhan, though you'd say China probably have a better chance with Liu. Still make America favourites in that tie thoughThe Thorn wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 9:30 am "YUANJUN LIU will return to compete for China in the BetVictor World Cup of Darts following the withdrawal of Qingyu Zhan.

Aye.
Each to their own. But I struggle to muster any anticipation for the PDC World Cup.

Same. I'm not keen on the team element. The tournament is very low in my estimations, but I'll still watch.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 7:35 pm Aye.

Re: World Cup of Darts 2019
MvG wanting more pairs emphasis in the PDC world cup. Yes lets make professional darts more amateurish. Leave the shitfest of world cup to the BDO or WDF or whoever the fuck is a true international sanctioning body. If the PDC wants to do a World Cup it should actually go to a more singles oriented format. Each national participant plays one match against the other nations participants. Ties goes to the doubles games. Lets be honest pairs is for the amateur events it really means nothing. And as it should be. Who in the fuck remembers or should be concerned about who won what pairs events at the biggest tournaments across the globe.
I admit some useless cunts from some shitty darting nations will remember, but that is only because they have fuck all to remember in international darting achievements anyways so they will grasp on to any useless straw they can.

Re: World Cup of Darts 2019
I would argue that since the WC is already a bit of a joke why not go all in and have it massively pairs dominated and just have the most fun possible with it.cannibal wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 9:36 pm MvG wanting more pairs emphasis in the PDC world cup. Perhaps move one of the majors like the GP to the end of May and then have the WC be the mid year comic relief.
