Ill assume I am wrong and its just the PDC deciding to contradict themselves on their own website, but who knows. With how much of a farce this comp has turned into I could easily believe they changed the format again.
Boring Brendas number one and (almost) only fan.

Smithys number one and (definitely not) only hater.

Emulsfier wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:27 pm Just noticed that the 2019 "youth" championship is down to 64 players rather than 96 of last year. Anyone know what the rules for this ridiculous comp are?
Is it top 48 on the dev tour + 16 int qualifiers? Does Jeff get seeded number 1 automatically being in the main top 32? Is it straight knockout or are they doing that kack group stage thing again?
For what is usually a very slick operation, the PDC keep making this comp even more of a joke than it is already, changing the format year on year with next to no info on what is happening.
Jeffrey de Zwaan would be seeded based on his DT ranking as he wasn't in the top 32 in January, Max Hopp would be eligible as #1 seed I believe.

Don't actually mind the group stage, adds a layer of unpredictability, and I suppose it's good for the international lads to get two games rather than one

Hampus Norrström wins the Nordic/Baltic qualifier for the World Youths with Axel Ljungquist also qualifying. Pretty grim standard, Norrström hit the only 70 average and 2 of only three 60+ averages (a pair of averages in the 50s in the final). Dunno what their JDC teams were like, but it does very much seem that darts is an old geezer's game up there.

2020 ET1 qualifier and the penultimate ProTour double-header this weekend for the Nordic/Baltic lads

Ma boy Zong picking up a bit of a scalp, beating Dawson Murschell. Shame he can't play in this more often, as it stands he only has the occasional Asian Tour event and that's it really in terms of decent tests

Ted wins DT18. Now 1 behind Dimitri's record of 12 wins. Still has a few years to surpass him too.

No real runs from the guys in need, apart from Nentjes who looks to be guaranteed a place at the Worlds now

At 16 they think James Beeton today is the youngest player to do a 9-darter in a PDC event.

Ireland remarkably well represented in the current top 10 of the OoM. Ciaran Teehan in 8th was in the quarter-finals of the masters on this day last week. He no doubt lost to some strange individual.

Not 100% what happened to rubber stamp his place, but Nentjes is through to Ally Pally via the Development Tour again
